Really?? I've heard that was the plan since he was hired. That he would be the HFC when Davis was fired or resigned.

Per an extremely reliable source, Blair Brown is 100% not interested in the head coach position.  He has a job he likes very much.

Now that's a good reason. Does the basketball coach have any input?

Whoever is apart of the search and hire process should really take their time to find the right person. Monticello should be much better than what they have done the past few years.

What about Max Pennington.
He won a state championship as an OC in Louisiana.
He is doing a good job at Dumas bringing that program back to winning
Every season he has been the head coach at Dumas.

Would be a slam-dunk hire IMO!  Just look at what he did at Wisconsin!  Definitely would translate nicely to the 4A!

Do the name calling if you wish.  My statement is based on seeing a coach with an undefeated season and state championship leave and go to a lower classification coaching gig, have success there, and parlaying that success to a higher classification job and  is still in the playoffs this year.  He must be doing something right.

He is a very good coach....no one doubts that.  However, when you throw out statements while being uninformed of the facts you earn the title.

Monticello has the athletes.  Every time they step on the field with Warren you think, why are they struggling so much to win with size and speed all over the field?  The right coach could have this program being very competitive very quickly.

This is as far from the truth as humanly possible.  Paschal played his son at kicker and bogused up his stats to get him an invite to the Arkansas High School All-Star game, and that is the truth.  He also was caught several times not doing his job as a teacher.

Now that being said Paschal wins football games, but he knew the talent was dropping off for several years, and he jumped ship.  He also waited until end of May to let the admin know he was leaving.  He was never forced out of Monticello.

Or atleast show up to PE Class?  What do pay a coach to do that isn't qualified to be anything but a teacher?

I will say this.  The 2 coaches who left before Marty, resigned in mid June.  We had no choice but to promote from within due to time frame.  Now that we have several months they will get it right this time.  Monticello is a great town that supports everything Billie related.  The booster club raises a bunch of $$ every year.  The facilities are top notch(IMO best in the 8-4A).  The town has and will always support the football program.  Whomever is hired they will have a great opportunity.

I wish Coach D nothing but the best in what happens after this but I hope that they do go through a process of hiring the best applicant instead of letting politics play a role in this because I think we have had some great coaches in Jr high and other sports at Monticello that I believe politics played a role in them being moved to other positions or not coaching anymore JMO

Think the Billie's could lure Farmington Head Coach Adams down there? He would be a good get to turn that program around. I bet he could turn them right round actually.
