I seem to remember you telling me it would be in Alma, haha. It's the South's turn, we'll see if anyone bids from there.

SNWA

Not sure why they would not bid. That's their thing...it wont hurt you to drive a bit further Rice. ;D

If it's in Siloam, there better be a reason to be in Fayetteville for me to be there, lol.

Anyone info on 5A bids?
I have heard Flippin may bid for 3A. Last time it was there was in 1998

The AAA should be releasing a list of all who applied for everything at some point Friday afternoon

Curious about these 2A regionals. Do they know who's going where yet? Wouldn't mind sliding up to BIC if there will be some good games.

Yeah, wanna say that BIC's conference is paired up with the 2A-2

BrianfromCarlisle

I believe in 2a it is 2&3, 4e&4w, 5&6, and 7e&7w

It's in Siloam...If I was you, I would make reservations at the Casino across in Oklahoma. Only 5 minutes away and some pretty good gambling!

Good Luck to all schools that made a bid.  Yes, the travel might be far between towns but that is the nature of living in the "Natural State".  I have been all over the World and have resided in many places, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but Arkansas.

How Many Baseball Fields are at Harrison parks? That's 6 regional tournaments that will be there...and 8 State Tournaments...Must be a really nice facility...

Googlymoogly

The Harrison sports complex has three regulation baseball fields and there is one more at North Arkansas College. For softball, there are five in the city.
But no worries. Harrison only ended up with Class 5A baseball and Class 3A softball state tourneys, then the 3A and 1A regional baseball and softball tournaments. That's enough.

HF, to be upfront with you, I'm not sure.  I don't see that many baseball games since I'm usually at soccer games at the same time frame and people text me on what is happening during the baseball games.  Maybe someone from the Harrison area (any conference class) can tell you more about the facilities.  I just know that there is a lot of ball fields here.  Small to large.  Heck, I sometimes see the Mennonites playing in one of our smaller fields by Firehouse #2 when I go home from work.  ;D  Since Searcy won the bid for the 6A soccer and Hope won the bid for 5A soccer, I might be able to attend and enjoy some of those baseball games in Harrison.

Whoops I read Go Postal's Post as the bolded ones were the tournaments they had won the bid...

Dang the AAA must not have much love for us hoops fans in Fort Smith  :-\
The closest regional sites are 1a region 1 @Scranton, 57 miles....2a region east @ JC Westside, 50miles... 3a region 1 @Danville, 74 miles...4a region north @Pottsville 91miles.
Then  with the state tourney, 7a thru 1a distances are: 66(not too bad i guess to see the big schools), 88, 290, 37(@ozark, the closest easily, but shoot, 4a is the region i pay attention to least) 106, 191, 164 miles(1a the one i wanna go to the most) .

So I guess really outside of 2a, the state isn't that bad... But with regionals, all i can realistically go to is Scranton, JC Westside and Hillcrest. Blah! Oh well ill make something shake. I wanted to ideally attend 1 session in each class at the least. And for that reason, plus I'm sure there are others like me, the AAA cud really help us out by staggering the  dates of the state tourney, instead of all 3rd thru 7th, have a couple start on the 2nd, a couple on the 3rd and a couple on the 4th, and one on the 5th. Just some food for thought

Cincyguy, I wouldn't complain 2 much.  The region we are in Region 3 it is 179 miles from Flippin to Manila and 212 miles from Harrison to Manila which is close to Valley Springs and Bergman, so those fans have to travel that far for 3A regionals, 1 A is  a little closer and state for 3A is 215 miles from Harrison and over 250 from Flippin.  Not to mention our district tournament is in Melbourne which is 90 miles from Harrison and almost 60 from Flippin so enjoy having games as close as you do.  As far as staggering the state tournaments that is a little tough, but they do have the state finals all in one location over 3 days.
