Flippin is open is that boys or girls

My guess is it's girls. Kelvin Hudson has been filling in the last to years but he is AD and middle school principal so I am guessing they are going to look for a full timer.....

I got confirmation that it is indeed for the Flippin girls. Kelvin Hudson is stepping down to devote his time in getting his superintendent degree ( or however they refer to it as).

The Flippin girls are going to be young. The Lady Bobcats graduate seven seniors, including all five starters. Senior to be Jessica Pace will be the lone returner with much varsity experience. A good freshman group is coming in with a couple or maybe three potential starters

Williams is at Marion now I believe as an Asst.
Real was an Asst. at UT-Martin. I think he started out at Earle back in 2004 or so and coached at some TN high schools.

I heard that both were EPC grads

I can't speak specifically about UT-Martin, but a small college assistant is the most brutal job in coaching.

You make SQUAT...You do MINIMAL coaching on the floor and are mostly there because you are young, and don't care to spend most of your time on the road recruiting and working for money that will hover you around the poverty line. It's a TERRIBLE life style IMO.

Its an easy decision to move into high school, get an instant/significant raise, not have to recruit or travel, get to actually coach basketball and add to that WAY more job security.

Funny thing is that many high schools think they are somehow getting a superior coach by drawing from that pool. Reality is, what they're really getting is a ball fetcher, van driver, JUCO looker, film watcher, moron sitter, stat taker, suit wearer, jock washer wannabe that has never made a practice plan or game plan in their life. All in the name of looking like they made a big-time hire.

Dion Real is an Arkansas native and has been a very successful coach in TN coaching high school boys andgirls at Covington.  Took girls to state for first time in forever and boys were very good as well. He is a great coach and Truman is lucky to get him but he will be moving on to bigger and better soon.  I have coached against him in the same district and region when I was in TN.

Could you guys give a coach a chance before judgement is passed? Some many times coaches fail because they were doomed from the start. It would be nice if the coach had support of the community.  Then there might be some success. If the players and other parents hear negative comments before they even meet their new coach he or she will most likely be doomed for they even start. All communities need to support their at least until they have practiced and actually coached at the new school.

Sheridan has as much talent, grades 8-12, as I have ever seen at Sheridan. Treadway only had 1 team finish lower than a 3 seed, 1 time, a 4 seed. 492 wins, 10 conference championships in 23 years. And they almost always never lost at home. New day coming, hoping for a good hire.
