I know this is probably a silly question, but being new to Arkansas, I was wondering how a student athlete is selected for all conference or all state?

Coaches from each confernece have a meeting and vote. 7A West meeting was Monday, 2/20/12.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the coaches voted, or if it was based off of seniority, stats, leadership sportsmanship, etc..

It generally depends on the conference.

Some leagues nominate names and vote.

Most do it by conference rankings. Conference champs 2-3 players, Runner-ups 1-2 players, 3rd-5th place 1 player, 6th-8th usually gets left out (every now and then if they have a big-time player, one spot will be allowed in).

All-state is critical to make all-star teams.
