Your standings probably need to be redone since LR Christian is no longer in the 5A Southeast conference.  I think they are back in the 5A Southwest conference.  This means that all the girls teams in the 5A Southeast conference have already clinched a berth in the state tournament.

Thanks for that update - when I pulled these standings together, I used last year's conference alignment as the starting point for this year's standings.  However, I thought there may be some changes as (hopefully) some schools may have added soccer teams.  At this point, these standings are definitely a work in progress. 

In looking at the AAA website, the soccer page still has the 2012 conferences listed as tentative.  As I recall, the conference meetings should occur in mid to late January so hopefully we'll see a final conference list by the end of Jan 2012. 

I am wondering though if other schools have added or dropped soccer for this season.  Thanks to Air Warren's updates, I know that Warren is no fielding a team in the 4A ranks.  I haven't heard of any additional schools adding teams at this time but maybe there is...... 

Last year (the 2011 soccer season), several girls teams were very short on numbers.  Might it be the case that some schools cannot field a team this year due to low numbers??  I'm guessing that a school will have to declare whether or not they will have a team by the time these conference meetings occur.  I suspect there could be some more last minute conference changes based on whether or not teams are form at all of the schools. 

I'll definitely make this change Girls SHoccer - in the meantime, please be sure to post your team's schedule when you can.

I don't think this was/is a master plan but it may just be the reality of spreading games throughout the schedule.  With only eight conference games for the SE teams, some coaches may be opting to spread their conf schedule a bit. 

There is the tournament at Burns Park this year in mid April (see Girls SHoccer's note on this elsewhere in this forum) and other tournaments around that time as well.  Also though, with just a couple of schedules available at this time, we might not be getting an accurate look at things just yet....

I too would like to know more about why this change was made.  Since this will be a one year change (before the 5A is realigned again), I don't see any rationale to move LRC from the SE to the SW because this really imbalances the conferences in terms of quality.  I can't see any significant savings in terms of travel distance either.....

The most compelling reason against the move is the fact that all SE Girls teams now automatically get playoff spots while there are now 6 girls teams in the SW.  By making this change, AAA has created an imbalance in the conference in terms of the number of teams.

While I have your attention Lakeside24, what's up with Lakeside?  I am a bit surprised to see the boys at 2-2.  It's definitely still early in the season and the 5A SW is no doubt tougher this year with the addition of LRC but I was really looking for some big things from Lakeside this year.

This is not to write them off - far from it as there is still a lot of conference play to go - I'm just surprised at their performance to date.  What's up with Lakeside?

Losses have both been to LRCA and CAC who are both always good. I think those could both be reversed in the next game if they are playing like they can. Not that LRCA and CAC are bad, I just think that we can play a lot better than we have been in the games I've watched.

LRCA also has their starting forward out with a broken foot. He is also probably their fastest player so I think you may see the scoring increase when he returns. He should be back soon.

Greenbrier girls are 2-0 in conf. With an 8-1 win over Morrilton, and a 2-0 victory against Siloam. The boys are under a new coach, same as last year, and seem to be getting all their stuff together. They could be a small threat in the 5a west. They verse Huntsville on Tuesday, and Harrison on Thursday.

I know this is off topic but this board gets a lot of traffic.  I have heard that the week of the state 5A playoffs is the same week of AP testing.  Depending on their game times some kids will have to either miss the game or miss the test.  My daughter said the reschedule dates for AP tests will not be until June.  Does anyone know if this information is accurate? I am sure there are a lot kids playing soccer that take AP classes.
