With the 2011 All Star week now upon us, I thought a thread dedicated to all things related to All Star week would be worthwhile.  Hopefully, this thread can serve as documentation for someone wondering what the soccer All Star week is all about.

From an activity standpoint, it sounds as if both the boys and girls teams will have a workout on Monday followed by the games on Tuesday (girls 6:00 pm, boys 8:00 pm).  There is not a a lot of soccer activity during All Star week as there are as many (if not more) non soccer activities.  If anyone has access to a schedule for the week's activity, please post it.

Athletes in all sports are expected to report on Sunday and depart after the conclusion of their game.  For soccer athletes, this means they will have the opportunity to watch the baseball and softball all star games while staying at the U of A but NOT the basketball or football games.

The 2011 All Star schedule of games is:
Monday: Baseball and Softball
Tuesday: Volleyball and Soccer
Wednesday: Basketball
Thursday: Football

For those who may look at this thread in the coming years, be aware that if you have an athlete in the All Star game, that athlete will be required to a physical exam AFTER they are selected to the All Star team.  The physical required by most schools at the beginning of the school year does NOT satisfy the requirement for All Star week participation.

At this time, the current list of All Stars is NOT available on the AAA website.  I suspect AAA most likely removed the list due to changes and no shows on the roster.

As of the 18th, 6 local players and 2 coaches will be representing the West soccer from Harrison and the surrounding area.

Not to shabby with no major clubs for any soccer athletes in this area for out-or-season play.

Best of luck to all the West Team players in the All Star game.
