All Arkansas Soccer

How did four kids from Harrison make the list, and no one from Hope made and only one from Little Rock Christian and CAC?  They didn't even get past the semi-finals...

Does seem a little odd, doesn't it. But just a reminder that good teams trump good individual players most of the time.

Who puts this together?
Coaches from each conference get together and nominate and vote on players

Nope, this is a democrat gazette thing.  Coaches are allowed to nominate players and give some background info.  A small article ran for a few Sunday's in a row asking for coaches to nominate players for soccer, baseball, softball and all academic team.  Some coaches care a little more than others or subscribe to the paper.  The dem/gaz picks the teams based on the info they can gather.  Hats off for Tim Cooper caring enough to help honor these players.  If your school did not have someone on there you need to be complaining to your coach.  It is the coaches job to help promote the sport.  Besides the state playoffs, Sundays article was the only time there was a major story on high school soccer.  To me that is not acceptable but if noone cares enough to even nominate their own kids for the all-arkansas team then they really don't care if their sport gets attention in the paper.

Oops,Sorry, I am sure there will be another small story or two in the paper on Tuesday (All-Star Game).

Harrison had just many very good individual players. As stated earlier, good teams trump good individuals, and you are right. Harrison struggled to play together at times and really nothing clicked in the semifinal vs. Hope.
