I want to make a comment about ESPN and the "controversy" in that game, but nothing's coming to mind.

Hilarious all the same.

The guy with the sport glasses is named Hunter, and 4 of the 5 five senior players have all been recruited to play but the only goalkeeper is going to play some where but he hasn't decided where.

yeah, lots of people say they are "recruited"  but when 4/5 aren't playing, and the one that says he is hasn't decided by May there is an issue... the good players are signed already.  76 wins is great, I beat my brother I think 77 times in one on one basketball, he is 12, but I think espn will show me on that site too.

Okay well recruited or not searcy has four back to back state championships! Being recruited by a college doesn't have anything to do with this ranking! So if your gonna bash us try and think of something a little better. Goodluck!

You know, four consecutive state titles, regardless of sport and regardless of classification, is a pretty difficult feat.  And Ark high school athletics, regardless of sport and regardless of classification, getting a little national exposure and recognition doesn't happen nearly enough in my book.  So why, when those moments do come, is it so hard for some of us to simply acknowledge it, support our fellow Arkansans, at least nod the head or tip the cap?  And I'm not picking on the soccer group here because it happens in all our sports.  I'm not saying we have to gather around the campfire and sing together, but we could certainly do better than jokes, sarcastic comments, etc.

hahaha... more like embarrassed that espn has no idea what a joke this is.  Searcy isn't a top 10 team in the state let alone 50 in the country.

even if you arguably say they are in the top 10 in arkansas soccer clearly they shouldn't be "ranked" by that rise espn.  LRCA, CAC, Hope, Harrison in 5a would beat them.  7a top 5 at least potentially top 8 would beat them.  Please do not respond with "they beat 7a teams", as we have heard and said back... those game meant nothing and the teams didn't play their real starters.

During the last 4 years Searcy has beat teams in every classification. 3 losses in 4 years.

None of your 5A teams contributed to any of those losses. LRCA did give Searcy a few of those wins though.

This is really a pointless discussion. Teams change so much from year to year in high school soccer. All of these schools have had solid programs in recent years, competitive both in and out of their respective classifications. Watching the final (only time I've seen Searcy play), the clearly had a very good team this year that likely would have been competitive against anyone in the state. They had a great year, played a great game, won the championship. Congratulations to Searcy. What did or didn't happen against LRCA or whoever three years ago is really irrelevant, isn't it? Clearly they're the class of the 6A this year (apparently by a long shot if Mountain Home was the best of the rest). Searcy has a strong youth soccer program that will likely continue to produce skilled players for years to come.

SirSoccer. Stop talking. You literally have no idea what you are talking about. You are going off what you "hear." Fact is I know all of the 7a teams Searcy teams played all of their starters. How do I know this? Because I've played against several of the players from all of the teams and I am friends with them. I talk to them before and after the games and the only team that didn't play all of their starters is NLR and that's because a couple of them were performing a play. I am really tired of you getting on here sirsoccer and acting like you are some god of soccer and you know all. Get over yourself. You are ignorant. Next time you want to talk smack on here check you facts. Check them again. Type out your message. Then do yourself a favor and delete.

I agree with russ, he just wanted to point out something great.  Let's all stop bashing a good team.  Even though I wish Searcy was in a different division to prove themselves, that's just the luck of the draw.  But back to my other question, what colleges are these seniors gonna go play for?

agreed, you can't fault searcy for doing the best they can in a situation that AAA is mandating. in any division, what they did is a good accomplishment.  good or bad, they didnt ask for the exposure, and AR should be proud that schools here are being recognized.  CHS was named to the top 10 nationally by NSCAA a few years ago...was it valid, of course not.  was it CHS's fault...hardly.

how was CHS ranking not valid. they lost 3 games in a two year span, winning back to back central conference and a state title. they also happened to have the gatorade player of the year on the 2007 team that was ranked. that started the dynasty that is Catholic now, 3 titles in 4 years in the 7A, no offense to searcy but i remeber playing their so called club my u-18 year at lrfc and beating them like 12 to zip or some crazy number like that. maybe their better now, but doubt that.

No arkansas team can hang with the likes of teams from Texas, Cali, North Carolina and so on. Thats what is meant when saying CHS and Searcys rankings aren't valid. Yes 3 loses for chs in 3 years and searcys 3 loses in 4 years is impressive, but the teams in other states are just so much better.

totally agreed.  the one hangup that benefits the arkansas teams is that many of the larger states play their soccer season in the fall, so AR teams don't have to compete with them in the rankings. either way, those CHS teams were good, but not one of the best 10 teams in the country by any stretch.

I take it you played for Mountain Home.  If I'm correct, I believe you are referring to last years' Harrison Tournament.  If this is the case you beat a team with exactly 11 players and 6 starters missing.  On top of all of that, you managed to eek out a 1-0 win.  You might want to refrain from giving your opinion

Searcy has never beat LRCA away from their home field.  Unfortunantly, LRCA hasn't gotten to play Searcy for the past two years.

We were missing 5 Starters in that game including 2 All-State players.  And your team was terrible, we stunk that game and still beat you.  Searcy is way better than you guys, deal with it.

I hardly think you can judge a team when you have seen less than half of it on a field at once.  I think an explanation for us being "terrible" might have been that we had very few starters playing.  Not to menntion, we were missing 2 of our 3 all-state players including Arkansas' all time scoring leader.

Rogers is usually pretty strong, and are arguably the best team on that list.  Either way, just posted this to show how arbitrary the rankings are.  Same thing happened last year, where Catholic ended up pretty high in the national polls, ahead of Conway, despite Conway beating them soundly twice.  It's all based on the opinion of one or two local coaches who are voting nscaa members. I'm a CHS fan, but gotta admit its pretty crazy.

None of your 5A teams contributed to any of those losses. LRCA did give Searcy a few of those wins though.

Searcy has never beat LRCA away from their home field.  Unfortunantly, LRCA hasn't gotten to play Searcy for the past two years.
Searcy beat LRCA at LR in 2007. Then again at Searcy in 2008.

Incorrect.  It was a 1-1 tie in 2007.  Searcy did win 3-0 in 2008

Not that any of this means anything but Rogers JV won the Varsity Searcy tournament when they were freshmen and it was the only loss Searcy had that year. That was 4 years ago I think. It is a very similar team to the one that played this year.

Thats right. My mistake. Either way Searcy is undefeated against LRCA in the last 4 years or more
