Lol. Yea. She really seems to know what shes talking about. How bout you take them to clarendon with you? I dont think ive ever seen worse practices or worse fundamental coaching at the highschool level. I dont want to bash, but you know absolutley nothing about what you are talking about. The kids that played are the kids that should have played. The kids that played got shorted because of poor coaching.

Really that bad! Well the kids deserve a organized practice and at least fundamental work. But why didn't people ask all those questions before they were hired? We at Clarendon have had our bad ones but we are starting to turn the corner so don't lump us all together.

Poor coaching?  England improved in basically every single statistical category this year and the team is still predominantly sophomores and freshmen.  Their biggest errors have been made on the base path, not in the fundamentals of hitting, pitching or fielding where they have improved across the board.

The motivations behind this move were not based on anything that happened on the field.

Panther, if u know anyone who has been at Clarendon very long, they know the truth about the coach bc he used to b there. I guess practices are not supposed to consist of hitting practice and fielding practice bc I know for a fact that is what his practices consist of.

And classy move by the board to want to advertise the position during the current season.  That just screams "we care about the current players."

Neither Coach Bell nor Coach Mallett have any disciplinary or legal issues.

Which practice in england did either of you attend? Other than beating the crap out clarendon and 2 other very poor teams, we were just terrible. So, if you 2 think the coaches did a good job they are on the market. Oh yea, I forgot about all that good baseball clarendon used to play. I really dont know why im arguing with you guys. I know the whole story. You dont have a clue. Quorum? More of something that you know nothing about. Mom, are you mad because your red lions can't beat us at anything, or is it that you are sweet on the ole ball coach? Haha, just kidn. Anyway, yall go ahead and bash away. I dont have time to argue anymore. Gotta find a good baseball coach. See ya.

I'm sure there are lots of coaches waiting in line to come to your baseball powerhouse. That's sarcasm by the way.
Maybe you are too slow to understand what's going on at practice. Is there too much for your little mind to comprehend??
I can see how the word quorum might throw you. Ask one of your ethically-challenged board members what it means.
2 wins last year. 6 wins this year. Yep I can see why you would want to get rid of them. 6 wins with mostly freshman and sophomores?? Not too bad.

How good was England before those two coaches got there.....

Again, you claim they were terrible, but it's still a team full of freshmen and sophomores and they drastically improved in nearly every statistical category: hits, batting average, on-base percentage, runs, fielding percentage, runs allowed and on and on and on.  They tripled their number of wins and were two runs from improving on its conference standing a year ago

Your eye-test doesn't stand up under scrutiny, or really any kind of analysis.  It's just that, a personal opinion not based on performance, which is exactly how the decision was made by the board.

And again, if it's a decision based on performance and the board actually cares about the current players, how do you rationalize advertising the change during the season where the players can see it?  That's selfish and irresponsible.

Being a coach and a teacher is like being a parent. You teach your child right from wrong but you can't make them choose the right thing. When they do wrong, others wonder why you didn't teach them right. As a coach, you teach your players what to do, like how to catch a ground ball or where to throw the ball. If they don't always make the catch, idiots assume you didn't spend hours of practice in 30 degree weather teaching the skills. Parents want to blame the coach. Didn't the parent teach the child before the teacher/coach? Yelling "fundamentals" when a player misses a ball should be an insult to the parent who coached him for 8 years before the coach tried to teach him what to do. Especially if you are some self-proclaimed genius little league coach, shouldn't your child be able to hit, catch, and throw the ball better than the others? And just because YOU think he's better, in reality, doesn't make him better.

Those kinds of improvements don't just happen with bad coaching.  The fact that those changes happened, but a group of little league experts wants the team to have a fourth head coach in five years instead of letting the current coaches build on those improvements says everything you need to know about the situation.

I don't have all of the records from the teams in each season.  As you can see, the conference was still about as tough as last year.  The run differences were vastly different this year from last year though, in conference and out of it.

England played Mills twice this year instead of once, Clarendon instead of Hazen and Carlisle, and Maumelle instead of Conway Christian.  Maumelle was the team's only mercy rule loss this season.  So it's hard to make an exact comparison, but there's no huge difference from one season to the next.

Any word on who the new coach is going to be?

They have hired an assistant, but not a new head coach.

Yet more evidence that England is doing things bass ackwards when it comes to the baseball team: the athletic director was hardly involved and someone who is not connected to the school sat in on the interview.  That's how we roll in small town Arkansas.

When did someone get hired?  Once again people do not know what they are talking about. There is a process to someone getting hired.  There is an interview, then a recommendation to the School Board, and then the SB can approve or reject .  Did you not learn anything from Watson Chapel.

Fine.  You want to be technical.  The job was offered.  "People" know what they're talking about.  It's just not what you want them talking about.

Not sure about its legality.  Its certainly not ethical, especially when the guy sitting in on the meeting has a kid on the team.

7-8 -> 4-12

That's with a majority of the team a year older.  Maybe the classy folks at England think a bit longer next time before they advertise for a job during the season.
