Title: RIP Wooden Light Poles?
Post by: x14113 on March 12, 2019, 05:44:11 pm
For those who haven't heard yet, Clarksville's Metheny Field at Whitson-Morgan Stadium has been shut down indefinitely after the collapse of a wooden light pole with injury.

What are the chances that this will compel other districts to replace the wooden poles at their respective venues?

(There is also a thread re the incident itself on the soccer board.)

It wasn't too many years ago that several fields had to replace their Musco steel/aluminum poles because of a defect??

Begs the question, how much do metal poles cost?  Never ventured into that field or thought about it.  Who sells them?

We had a Metal pole fall at our HS field about 10 years ago , Since then we had annual inspections.
