Elkins @ Dardanelle (15)
I mentioned last week that a key for the Elks would be to score as often as possible. They took that idea and ran with it, scoring TDs on 11 of 15 possessions. Alas, their play on the other side of the ball still hasn't answered its doubters; through five conference games, Elkins has allowed 134 combined points, with 90 allowed the last two weeks. By comparison, those same teams have (so far) scored a combined 43 points against the Elks' final two opponents, and if you subtract the points scored on the backups, that number shrinks to an eye-opening 10. These are the defenses Elkins will need to solve to claim the conference's top seed, with a Lizard side still hungry for their own piece of the pie first up. Even if the guests do happen to score more points on them than Ozark did, it will mean nowhere as much if Dardy moves the ball at will.

Pottsville (21) @ Dover
In the span of two games, the Apaches have gone from contending for a conference title (and keeping a shot at the top seed) to fighting for their playoff lives. After three relatively quiet weeks, the turnover bug came back with a vengeance last week, with Elkins scoring 41 points on six giveaways. On paper, Pottsville should have a much easier time as they once again close the season with the two worst teams in the 4, starting with a Pirate side that found out the hard way last week why other defenses weren't playing up on Ozark. If you've been paying attention to the conference the last half-decade, though, you'll probably remember how chippy this series has gotten, with three of the past four decided within one possession. Now would be a good time for Dover to step it up, too; they'll clinch the final playoff spot if they win their final two games. When you average less than a TD per game, though, you won't inspire much outside confidence in your chances.

Mena (35) @ Subiaco
It is safe to say that the Bearcats have turned the corner offensively? I don't want to go all in on the idea because Dardy is still left, but they are certainly venting their frustrations from earlier, scoring almost twice as many points in the last three weeks as the first half of the season. Don't expect this momentum to be slowed by the Trojans, despite making a game of it against Waldron last week.

Ozark (35) @ Waldron
Of all the teams that could be indirectly affected by Elkins' antics last week, perhaps few would be moreso than the Hillbillies. That burnburner makes it dangerously tempting to look ahead to a potentially critical matchup, giving the Bulldogs a huge oppportunity to catch them off-guard. Between that porous defense and their own title hunger, though, the tools to limit said tempation are already in place.
