I've now seen Scranton twice.  Booneville got to their pitcher pretty well at their place but Scranton got theirs yesterday at Booneville.  Very solid team and definitely a factor in 1A.

Lady Pirates are now back-to-back-to-back District Champions and 19-6 overall heading into Regionals.

Sounds like if Woodlawn beat Taylor without their ace they are hands down the best team in Class A.

After reading through all the posts today.... I'm hoping everyone was responding and reading with their sarcasm buttons activated.  Yes, Taylor lost to Woodlawn, and both teams pitched their number ones.  I was there and it looked to me that both teams played hard and everyone was playing to win, fans were cheering for a win.  Should Taylor have won the matchup?  Most people in the know would say yes.  Would Taylor win if they play again?  On paper, yes.  That is why the game is played in the dirt and grass between two white lines.  All I can say is, it was a good game between two #1 seeds and both pitchers pitched their butts off and their respective teams played hard behind them. Both teams made some errors and both teams made some good plays.  Both teams should fair well this week.  I agree with someone above, the number one team went down and the previous number two team won.  I would've swapped the rankings around a bit, even if it lasted only one week.   Good luck to all teams in every classification playing in the state playoffs.  Safe travels to all teams and fans and may all players, coaches, umps and fans play their best, coach their best, ump their best and cheer their loudest.

Well, daughter and I traveled around and watched some other regional games after we were eliminated. My thoughts:
As long as Concord's coach gets their bus to the games...they'll win it.
Scranton is 2nd best team but they'll be done after concord in 2nd round.
That leaves Taylor able to slip in on the easier side of the bracket.
Then woodlawn.
From there, I don't think it matters too much but Mount Vernon and South Side Bee Branch are my darkhorse picks.

What happened to us is easy...bad day at the office.
Concord shouldn't have to worry about that issue. Or about the coaching side of things. Even if their coach has to miss a game, I think their assistant is more than capable to guiding that ship into harbor. I've heard, I don't know if it's true, that coach Hardin is the guy in charge there. Can't beat having an ole Mustang at the helm.

Gamechanger, I wasn't asking you to comment on that. I wouldn't think you'd have any better of an idea of the ins and outs of that team than I would. Hard for either of us to know from outside looking in but just what I've heard.

Armorel did not look so easy to me. that will be a good game between them and Taylor.  could not tell much about Concord or Scranton they both took care of business like a #1 should. to me the interesting thing will be to see what pitchers handle a wet or damp ball well. some some great teams gone down in past because of a wet ball.
