Mount Ida is one of the programs I respect from afar.... Unreal program right now. I have to say I think the rematch will be much more competitive than the first go around with Foreman but still got to say Ida by 14. Good luck to both teams!

We were playing really good ball until the off week our D played very good tonight o was a lil out of sync fumbled several snaps ... And had a bunch of penaltys ... We can't do that next week obviously .. I would say the biggest thing since then would be the way our D line has matured .. they have been great this post season .. they will have too be even better next week
Two really good teams. Foreman has improved since earlier in the year.

Mt Ida is very good team and I don't want to take anything away from how you guys played on our previous game but you guys didn't get our best!! Do you guys think you would be your normal self if Coach White wasn't out there with you? Remember, our coach was gone after the first quarter...
I keep saying it but Auburn and Georgia is a real life example of what could happen. . it's hard too beat good teams twice...it's happened many times hopefully you get our best
Its hard to beat a good team twice, its hard to repeat as state champs I believe Mount Ida can do both if they play a clean game. I also believe this could be a trap game for Mount Ida they beat Foreman handily the first go around and that spells trouble in my opinion it will be hard for Mount Ida to keep that focus knowing how they manhandled Foreman this season. If Mount Ida lets their guard down Foreman could win this game. We all know Foreman has the tools to win if Mount Ida waivers. All that said I take Ida by 7
It's the State Championship I expect Mount Ida to know Foreman will be ready. Both teams know each other well. I expect both to be very prepared and focused.

How bout the 7-2a. When y'all beat us in week 7 I told several of our kids that we would see y'all again. This is no surprise to anyone in Foreman maybe everywhere else in the state it was but you only see teams like ours once in a lifetime. I will always cherish this season and look back on it with great pleasure. This game will be a war and will be a epic showdown on the highest stage.

He gets pretty heated just his nature. .. it was a pretty poorly officiated game I think we had 14 penaltys .. the call he lost it on was a no call on an obvious facemask ... It wasn't all one sided though it was just crappy

Actually what happened was a fan was giving the ref a hard time and a few minutes later when you guys scored the same ref came 35 yards down field and started yelling at the fan questioning him and when the fan stepped closer to him he said he bumped him but he didn't (I know this because me and 5 others were only 10 feet away watching it the whole time). He throws a flag for supposedly bumping the ref. Coach goes off on the ref for another highly suspect call from the ref and so they throw another flag. Which is an automatic ejection. Then he's done for the night!!
Not saying the fan yelling at the ref is acceptable behavior but the officiating in the first half of that game was horrendous and between us playing terrible and the officiating there were a few of us fans who may have overreacted. But a ref coming down field 30 yards and jump into the face of a fan on something that a fan said 5 minutes earlier to me was doing nothing but trying to start something. And they are SUPPOSED to act in a manor that is beyond approach. Not to get into the face of a fan and provoke someone. But that's just my opinion!!
The fan in question was almost on the field of play just a couple plays before that. He should have been on the other side of the fence as he had no business being where he was. The main problem I think your coach had was the score was 20 to 0.

I agree that the fan did not bump the ref however fans do not belong on the playing field.. The whole thing was very strange, it gets even stranger when your coach does not sit out the very next game after his ejection..
But anyway lets all of us fans just agree to stay in the bleachers or on our keyboards this week!

Was the fan Coach Kings brother? When the other guy started calling the plays is when y'all scored on # 5's run. Didn't have much offense before that. I am sure this will be a different game tho. I don't see us winning by 30 again. Probably just 20.

I'm sticking with what I posted on Oct 10 on stuck in between's 7-2A predictions that Foreman would win state. I really think that Foreman had that "deer in tha headlights" syndrome and they imploded in their first meeting. With that being said you don't know how hard it is to pick against the Lions because they have been the king of the jungle the last couple of years with a great leader leading them. Foreman has settled in now and focused! Should be a much more competitive game! GET YO POPCORN READY!

A lot of people had Camden Harmony Grove number 1 for most of the year.. they have been dismantled. Foreman was in the top 5.. they have been dismantled.

One of the earlier Ida posters said he felt that y'all played your best game against us... I am certain we played our worse , coach gets ejected , refs sucks, home field advantage ...u factor in all of this .. idk if it equals 26 but it gets you alot closer ..

We played our best games against Foreman and Marked Tree, because those two teams were peeking through a crack in the door talking trash in the field house before the game. I'll preface my comments by saying that last years's state champion mt ida team was dominated by a mediocre, at best, dierks team so anything is possible. With that being said, I'll say this. I believe Mt ida is a better team than last year's. I'll also admit that their defense is their strong point by far. However, Foreman might have been handled easy the first meeting, but I believe that is all because of lack of big game experience. Now that all that is out of the way, honestly I wish they could both lose, so I'm definitely not showing favorites, however Foreman is a very good football team as well, and I believe they will be state champs this year. This won't be an easy task at all, because of Mt ida's defense.
I'm going with foreman by 10.

The officiating at CHG was the worst I've seen in a long time. They kept CHG in the game. Bad calls or no calls at critical times. Somehow the Lions overcame it. Great teams do. I really hope there's no controversy with officiating this time around. Looking forward to a clean game.
This is just one man's perspective on things. First Coach King was ejected after the blocked punt. It was third and long when Ida caught us in the back field while tackling our running back the defender did in fact grab a handful of face mask. Now the head referee might not have been in position to see it, but there was no way the line judge on our side could have missed it. That is when he begin to lose his cool. He spent the next 25 seconds arguing and did not call a play so that tacked on another five yards due to delay of game which put us punting deep in our territory. We all know what happened the next play. That is when it really started getting out of hand. After punching it in is when all heck broke loose and he got ejected. From that point on the ballgame was over. You cannot spot a team like Mt. Ida 21 points and expect to stay in the ball game. There has been a lot said regarding the officiating of the game. From my view other than the no call on the facemask and possibly a no call on a pass interference that may or may not have been catchable I thought it was a fairly called game. Some fans think just because one team has more flags than the other that it was called in the other teams favor. I'd venture to say Ida rarely if ever loses the penalty battle. It is just as big of a part of their M.O. as running between the tackles.
Now enough about the past it has been asked what part of the Gator's game has improved to the point that will account for a 26 point swing. Truth is all of it. To think that a team has not improved as a whole in seven weeks would be naive. That being said I know the Lions have improved as well. Now I want it known I have enormous and I do mean ENORMOUS respect for Mt. Ida and what they have accomplished and the way that they do it, but no team is unbeatable it gets proven every year. I don't think there is any one part of the Gator's game that had to improve by leaps and bounds in order for the game to turn out differently. What has to improve is how they play it. Foreman is not a young team by age, but they are in success. I feel like they might have let a little of it get to their head and they might have had a false sense of how good they really were prior to the Ida game. Just like when you're a child occasionally you had to be brought back to reality and that is exactly what Ida did week seven. Since then they have played at a higher level than before. Truth is a week seven spanking probably did them some good.
I am not predicting a win by either team, in a game where all the breaks doesn't go one way I think it will be a toss-up. It will be Foreman's responsibility to cause some of those breaks and limit their own mistakes. As clean as Mt. Ida plays they will not allow many and will force several.
The Gators cannot be content with just making it to the Championship game. They have to stay hungry.

Dierks did dominate Ida, but on that night Dierks was much better than marginal. You are also correct that anything can happen especially in this big of a game!
Mt. Ida defense has played very well this season and the D-line is as good as any that I have seen at this level.. If the offense holds on to the ball they will put plenty of points on the board...
With all of the injuries that Ida had to deal with this season I really was not sure that they would make it this far, I think that credit has to be given to the coaching staff for winning while playing with key players injured and others out for an extended amount of time.. This Friday will be the healthiest that they have been since August which makes me like their chances of finishing the year at 15-0.

Foreman is definitely better than they were week 7. They have improved after the Ida game the same way Ida improved after the Dierks game last year. But with that Ida is completely healthy and 2 players that were hurt early on in the week 7 matchup are back and ready for another chance at the gators. I'm hoping both teams stay focused and are able to play a clean game so there are no excuses for either team. Congrats to the Gators for their best season in school history! (as far as I know) Both teams have proven how underestimated the 7 is

The first touchdown run by HG was very well held, uh I mean blocked, but they got by with it all night. Our kids got called for holding plenty of times. The 8 yard run that was marked as a one yard run was freaking ridiculous. The chain gang guys trying to give Coach White advice is hilarious, but that's none of my business.😂

Man i'm joking with you I agree it was a sharty called game. Ida is a good team well deserving. I like to see good football no matter who it is, even though i always want HG to win. I just wish sometimes the refs would let them play them game when they do the opposite and ruin it by throwing some pointless flags.

I don't know about that I think Earle is one of the two best team but they make bone-head mistake or cheated, and they say foreman know it they couldn't beat Earle. I hope foreman ready to score 8 touchdowns thats what's it going to take to beat Mount Ida and the refs at WMS. I'm telling you they least going call back four or five them touchdowns back.

Looks like Mount Ida is giving up 9.9 points per game and forcing 43.1
On the other side Foreman is allowing 10.6 and scoring 44.7

I am basing that off of a game that you played earlier this year against the exact same team...your team got beat badly. That's not insulting your kids...that's speaking truth. As far as me basing my opinion off of the dominance of the 8AA...I have said all season that I believe Hampton and Rison to be overrated. Seems like a lot of ground has to be made up on Foreman's side to make this a game, I'm sure Mount Ida is a tad better since that meeting also.

Ya'll got beat by 29..Grove got beat by 13 (The last 6 of that came from HG going for it on 4th and 20 from their own 15-20 yard line and Ida punching it in from there) I don't disagree that Foreman deserves to be in the finals. They did everything they had to do to get there... including being lucky enough to be on that side of the bracket away from Grove and Ida and Earle having to forfeit. Look here you do realize Foreman beat a fully healthy and ready to go Bearden team... not like the one y'all played in the season and this team was probably better than their seeding indicated. You also know nothing about our meeting with Ida earlier so just be proud of your team and keep the Foreman Gators out of your mouth please.

Gotcha! You have your reasoning in why you guys feel that your one of the best teams and we have ours. Right now, we still have a chance to prove that we are. Time will tell.
Now then with that said let's get this thread back on track. Foreman has been playing on a very high level before the week suspension of the games. The Salem game was a little slower than we all expected but the defense looked stout again. I'm expecting a bit of a defensive battle this week. Cause we all know Ida is stout in that department too!!!
I just came by the stadium here in Texarkana and I saw Foreman practicing on our field to get used to the turf!! Good luck to Foreman and one of ours Coach Ivory!!

Foreman has beaten 9 and 10 in AA.
Foreman had a much easier road than Mt. Ida. Besides Conway Christian, nobody has really gave them much trouble. Even Harmony Grove only had 70 something yards at half according to the radio. If Mt. Ida comes to play and do what they been doing, I can see them handling this one as well. Their season low is 27. Season high given up is 28. In 14 games.
Foreman is making history in first appearance. Great tough quarterback. They will have to capitalize on Mt Ida mistakes if there are any and have several more big plays, more than the one that they had in first meeting, to win.

Funny thing is everyone thought our side of the bracket was the strong side when it started ..
These Foreman guys are chippy...not sure what they were expecting...I listened to your game against Ida on the radio...you guys shot yourself in the foot time after time...all credit to mt Ida as great teams create opportunities...I myself think Mt Ida has had the tougher road to the finals...but there's no doubt Foreman is a better team than the one who traveled to Mt Ida earlier in the season...but who's to say the lions aren't much improved...
However I will say this...in 2005 when Dierks made it to the rock...they traveled to Smackover in week 2 and lost 14-13 on a missed 2pt conversion...then in week 13 Smackover traveled to Dierks and the Outlaws smacked the bucs around I believe 41-18...so it can happen...and just to cover my back side (Mineral Springs beat Dierks 42-7)...

I know the Foreman area generally gets their local channels out of Shreveport, but if you happen to get them out of the Little Rock area it can be picked up on channel 38. I have watched most all of the championship games so far, but like I said my local channels come from Little Rock.

Great opportunity for both communities and more to come down the road this is turning into quite a rivalry. I think this game will be more like last years game decided at the end of the game.

It's just a little funny that someone from Foreman said 60-14. Almost sounds like someone was just trying to poke at Mt Ida a little since everything that we hear is we shouldn't even be in this game, going to be a rout...LOL
Yes, there were complaints about the officiating at our earlier game this year (including myself) but I don't think there has been anyone to say that was the reason we lost the game. We made too many mistakes in that game to even be competitive and Mt Ida did what good teams do and made us pay for it.
To answer your other question I believe the kids are going up Friday. I think they tossed the idea around about going up Thursday but decided against it.

I was glad to see it! Lol not that Mount Ida needs anything to fire them up but it helps to know that some people think Foreman will beat them down, but its always good to have that in the back of your mind. Foreman is the underdog in this game but very well could upset the Lions because they have the talent to do so. I think most of Mount Ida's and Foreman's fans expect a hard fought close game. IMO Mount Ida should win this game but it will be a great one!! Just a few mistakes could make a world of difference in this one.
Foreman should go up Thursday and give the boys the experience. Never know when and if you will ever make it back. It's great for the fans also.
They went up today too practice and stuff .. it's always best too sleep in your own bed

Yeah, I think the kids would love that too and I initially thought that would be pretty cool for the kids to do but I've heard stories of some teams going up there the night before and kids staying up all night long talking and horse playing all night and not getting the rest they need to be ready to play the next day. If that's the case I think it would be better to go up on the day of the game. Ultimately, I think that's why they chose to go up the day of.
I guess it worked out pretty good for you guys last year though...
Yes a great time was had by all except one of our players got a stomach bug or something. They had to take him home. Foreman is missing out for sure.

They practiced at New Boston Sunday. As far as the going up a day early I like the idea of staying at home. I really agreed with Arkadelphia's coach in his pre-game interview that I saw. Yes this is a huge moment, but I liked his approach in not making the moment bigger than what it is.

I don't know anyone that knows who she is but I can say one thing for sure about this person, if she is an actual person. If she was really close to the program then she would know that 60-14 is a ridiculous expectation. I don't know anyone that knows who she is but I can say one thing for sure about this person, if she is an actual person. If she was really close to the program then she would know that 60-14 is a ridiculous expectation. Also if she was close to the program then she would know better than saying something like that on Hooten's which everyone knows that the other team would see and it would only fire them up. So, considering all of that it would seem to me that we should be able to conclude that she would be anyone except someone who is close to the program. Or as Couchcoach would say...from the other program.
However, my best guess is just that it is someone who just ran their mouth off to stir things up! And here we are allowing her to do that....lol

Don't think they were from Mount Ida and if so it's not the majority. I heard people say before the playoffs they thought there was a chance we'd meet up again. Our boys don't have a chip on their shoulder, sure they thought that crap was as funny as everyone else did. They know y'all are better than the game you played at Mount Ida, they're ready. Yalls boys shouldn't have a chip either. 2 great teams about to play. I couldn't be anymore excited 🎉

Im at loss for words but the physicality in that game was unmatched in any game I have seen ... the 2 backs and the qb of Ida are some of the tuffest kids I have ever seen they took lick after lick and just kept getting back up .. our players also took lick after lick and kept going !! To answer your question buck.... the last 2 times he played qb he threw a couple of pics. The High School in Texas he was at ran 100% spread from the shotgun. He had never taken a snap under center. He had never done anything much other than play qb in the spread from what I heard. We had a need at tight end and some on defense. He had to learn quick and to his credit he did. I just wish he had been here for more than a year. He did a good job given the circumstances and the coaches did a good job of finding a way to get him ready to play in a offense he had never been in and on defense.

Well they ran into a kid with speed and could not keep up just like 2016 in the rock lol. Losing their running back Ida will take a few steps back and become a tier 3 team .. Couldn't get it done when it was in their hands as filmcrew said after 16 LR game lol. Bo you have no idea what you are saying, Forman has a Good football team and Ida knew it was gonna be a battle, when you shoot yourself in the foot in a game like that it's hard to overcome. Just won't to let Forman know they have a really good team. The best Two in the state was in the game and it was a nail biter that someone had to win and Forman made the plays to do it.

Regardless of whether or not we faced masked a player on the blodked punt, Coach King’s chest bumping of the Ref was unacceptable. We came to Mt. Ida from Frisco, TX and had a coach done that there, they would have been bailing themselves out of jail and their season would have been over.
Last night, we came in overconfident and had discipline issues at times. As a result we lost. To imply that MI doesn’t have a sound program or doesn’t have a good future is just plain ignorance. The same holds true for Foreman. They have a good program and a solid future ahead of them.
You will not find finer people than those in Mt. Ida. I’ve never seen a sports team anywhere that has a closer relationship than the Lions. They love each other and no one showboats. When they are not practicing, they are swimming or at the gun range or hunting together. The town is very supportive of the team and every aspect is done first rate.
I cannot say enough good about Coach White and MISD period. He runs a simple but complex offense and defense —- lots of “ syncrinicity “. For a kid coming from the spread, it was like walking into a room where everyone speaks Polish. Coach White welcomed us here and gave our son more than a fair shake. As far as that last offensive series, it was about the TEAM, not my son. It’s always about the team not Batey or Bohannon or even Favre. Everything has to click before anything gets done and guys in the trenches NEVER get the credit they deserve. Our QB made a GREAT catch and he has the heart of a Lion. He lead the team to a district Title and left it all on the field. He’s special as are all of the players because again, it’s about the TEAM.
All of this trash talking and bragging I’ve witnessed here outside of good hearted fun will always come back to bite you. It always does. It’s a Biblical Principle. My hat goes off to Foreman. They played a great game and earned the title of Champion.
As for me and my family, we look forward to supporting Mount Ida Football for as long as we are able. It’s special and we are blessed to be a part of it.

I feel the same way! When you start bragging usually bad things happen! Now I understand that there were only a couple of Mount Ida posters bragging (most from other schools) and the rest were respectful of Foreman but the few that we're not, just fueled our kids the same way posters from Hampton motivated you guys last year! And we were very appreciative of the motivation! Mount Ida is still a very good team and will be right in the thick of things again next year!
Mt. Ida had more than a 1 year run as 1 poster mentioned. They had about a four year run. 2 state finals and 1 championship in that time. Foreman won the game. That simple. But the one thing i don't see on here is the excuses that we saw on here from Hampton coming from the Mt Ida posters. And I promise you Ida will be tough again next year. So will foreman. Congrats to foreman on your first title. Y'all earned it. Congrats to Mt Ida sr class. Y'all had great careers. 40-3. 3 conference champs. 1 state title. 1 runner up. 21 game win streak. Y'all are a class A program.
Congrats to Mt Ida on a fantastic season, state runner up and conference title. You guys have a classy program and do it the right way. Your program, parents and community should be very proud of what the kids and Coach White have put together. My hats off to all the folks up in Mt Ida.
Congrats to the Foreman Gators on a great season, conference runner up and most importantly... The very first state title! You guys have earned it. Coach King has done a fantastic job there and the kids and community bought in hook, line and sinker. The Gators have the system in place now, the coach and all the athletes to make another run next season. #5 for Foreman is a next level athlete for sure. Enjoy this victory to the fullest and then prepare to defend the title next season. This is a great time for that community and my hat is off to them.
Lastly, thank you to both these programs for not only putting on a tremendous state title game (very entertaining from a spectator's seat), but also representing our conference. You guys really did the 2A 7 conference proud last night! Hats off to both teams and see you both next season.
Foreman may go on to win more State Championships but they will never forget the 1st. We will never forget ours. Now the Gators get to be the defending champion and have the target on them every game next year. They will be good and have a great chance again. AA football will have some good teams next year.

It's been reported that he ran two 4.24's back to back. Now take it.....I believe that is with a stopwatch(human error). He is fast, but not 4.24 fast. Heck of an athlete, no doubt. I wish him the best of luck in the future, seems like a great kid.
He's fast and a good player. Put 4.2 into perspective. Shabazz and McFadden weren't 4.2. Close but very few humans have ever ran that fast.

Although I'll agree his chances of going too an sec school are definitely not increased because he is a little shorter than the norm. There are plenty of 5'8 - 5' 10" running backs in P 5 schools now .. I mean it's not un realistic for him too weigh - 200 + next season that's not little .. he weighs 185 or so now at the end of a season ..

Cade is a great competitor and a good football player. If he was 6'0 200 lbs he would be a monster. Like many Mount Ida kids not the biggest or fastest but play their A** off and do things the right way.

First and foremost, he's a leader. He could do well in a slot back type of position. I don't know about his genetics so I can't say how big he will get. If it interferes with his speed, drive and resiliency then he is better off as is. I am sure he could play D2 and with more weight, D2. Can you say Trinden Holiday of LSU?

I can tell you without a doubt, that Batey would have the same success in any classification. He would out run players in 6 & 7 A just as he has done in 2 & 3A. It does not matter what classification you play in, if you can play you can play. That's like saying you couldn't be successful in the NFL if you didn't play big time D1 football. I wonder what Walter Payton would have said about that, I guess Bret Farve wasn't good enough to play since he played at a smaller D1. Small school players aslo do things that 6 & 7A players don't have to, they play on one side of the ball & get to rest. If Batey just had to play offense his numbers would be off the charts.

I guess the mentality for years has been bigger schools are better than smaller ones. I hear time and time again that the athletes in bigger schools are better. But when I ask the question of where is the data to support it, the next thing that comes out of their mouth is usually "it just is".
