Sure. Ive heard that before

Jacketman65

Then maybe you should just be quiet and go help your new 2-A coach  teach those kids how to play better football.  Hopefully you will be able to slip by DeWitt this year unlike Marianna of last year.

Yet we still beat clinton and you think we were worse than your jackets. Hmmmm and just where did your coach come from before Clinton? I believe it was his first HC job yet you try to make fun of ours who has HC experience. another hmmmmm

I replied to one of them for you. I'm not going to post them. only reason I pmd you was so you and idoknow could hash the matter out and I was trying to be civil by telling you what he said so you could fix it.

read your pm now. It was a reply to one of yours to me. You really are a little slow aren't you? This whole time I thought it was just an act

cuckoobird

I just had a thought. Earlier I was kidding about AW and jacketman being the same but they both started posting today at the same time, maybe I was on to something there....

The_Laughing_Cow

Besides the Turner kid, I'm not sure how Newport could be ranked #3 in the state. I think they are top 10, just not #3! My alma mater the Lonoke Jackrabbits will push them for a conference championship this year I think. It will be a three team battle in the 2-4A between Newport, Helena, and Lonoke. I hear Stuttgart is going to be down for a few years, but they won't stay down long. Too much tradition over there.

You are probably right. People who post under aliases in french crap(blanc De Noir or something stupid like that) seem to know how to pick out other phony aliases.

They return a solid line on defense and offense as well as the quarterback and some other offensive weapons. I think it's going to be another 4A toss up this year because the top 5 teams are going to be loaded again.

IMO, Malvern is going to be a team to watch this year.

whippersnapper

This year is advantage Newport. The last 4 years the home team has won this game. And back at the "new" legendary greyhound field. Also just a quick stat. These seniors for the hounds have only lost 1 home game the last 2 seasons.

Newports Oline and dline is what concerns me. They return Simmons and the center but after them it's a toss up. Dline will be ok but having Simmons and Turner as their anchors on the dline could wear them down through the season. At the skill positions they will be pretty good and return a lot of experience. I think they have a really good coach that will get the most out of this team. Should be playing in late November.

Malvern is always going to have good athletes. They return their QB, RB, and 2nd best WR. Losing Kaylen Burks is going to be a big blow on both sides of the ball. They return a few offensive lineman. Defensively they lost their two best play makers in DL Issac Wright and S Kaylen Burks. There are several returning starters back on defense but they are going to have to step up this season. I think Malvern is also very well coached but to me they are a year away from competing for a state title. They have a good chance to be playing on Thanksgiving though.

Just this year. The 4A-2 needs to make hay while the sun is shining. Stuttgart has 3 strong classes coming up that has lots of size and speed. Going to have a sophmore LB that is going to be a special player. He is the second coming of Waymon Johnson, just like him off the field too super nice and respectful kid on the field very ferocious. This year is not a foregone conclusion either. Least year the Bird's biggest problem was that the skill positions were all young and inconsistent. Which why they would one week give Dollarway, Newport & Lonoke all they wanted then the next week lose to Marianna. That inconsistency might not be there this year. This year the big question mark is the lines which is a huge one. If that gets handled there is going to be a war for conference.

So what's the story on Star City?  For a team that crashed out in the quarters, they seem awfully high up.  Did they not have any seniors last year or something?

I don't know much about 4A football or anything about them in particular, just curious as to why they're up so high.

Yes. From what I have been told, if they don't win state in the next two years they may never will. They were a sophomore and junior heavy team. I have heard some good and I have also heard some question marks. So as in every situation and team, it's preseason talk.

Warren could very well start out #1 and end up being #1 like they started out 0-3 last season and still stay ranked #1. Only way I could see them slip from #1 this season is if Stuttgart beats them in week 2.

We will be lucky to field a team again this year.
I know someone that lives near Warren and told me that Warren may be dropping down to class 3a in a few years. Is that true?

You sure?  Last 4 cycles Warren's numbers are.....
08-10   355
10-12   354
12-14   327
14-16   325

Currently only 11 smaller public schools in 4A and several of those are fast growing schools.

Don't know if they will beat Charleston but they lost that big stud Qb and 13 other Sr but they are returning the FB/LB and defensive player of the year Bryson May and that cat quick Hb #10 and that hard to block #1 Justin Shackelford that Dway couldn't block (but my son held him down in the championship game but just a morale victory). They will be Sr. heavy this year (19)and (9)Jr. returning this year don't know about the sophomore class, is that enough info for you on Bville. Don't know what Charleston have but should make for a great final though.

Actually booneville returns 4 on offense. 5 on defense.

Returners include Bryson may, Matt Berry, and josh smith at running back. All who played in the title game. Replace Harrel at QB with senior James Ray who played defense last year. The will replace 4 starting lineman. 5 return on defense that allowed 12 ppg last year. Booneville will still be tough.

Best of luck to the cats this year.

Superjack45

AW I am not going to get into with you over this but I looked at my Official Program from WMS and counted the returning players not the starters for Bville. Thanks for the back up though,I know you ment well and since you played at Warren I will look over it.Lol!!! Yes they still will be tough with that offense for sure.

Warren School District Numbers

Eastside New Charter School

2nd 130
3rd 125

Brunson New Vision Charter School
4th 134

7th 117
8th 130

Warren High School

11th 115
12th 100

We knew going into the 2011 season that Warren was about to see some of the smallest classes in a long time. If the numbers stay where they are classifications don't change, it appears we will maintain a solid 4A school. Barring an economic "fordyce like" collapse.
