Money or lack thereof. At least thats what I hear. Lots of work, summer too but not much pay.
Coaching stipends are almost nonexistent except for the extended contract but I bet there are lots of young coaches applying for work because everyones got to start some place. It's not just football. Basketball, baseball, and wrestling too. The coaches asked for a raise and the board turned them down.

Like I said the reason is very obvious. Same reason 2 guys left last year and 3 more are leaving this year, with a 4th trying to leave.

Both baseball coaches resigned. A basketball coach resigned. The wrestling coach resigned. The superintendent is leaving. They have a new principal and new athletic director and a new superintendent on the way. Since the school board refused to increase coaching stipends almost every coach on staff is leaving except those who are from the area or have homes or property in Berryville. Everything is a matter of perspective. Have you ever heard the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure?" Young coaches need to start out some where and I bet there are plenty of men out of work who will fill these jobs quickly. If you look at the AAA job board there are lots of schools hiring complete staffs. Piggott is searching for a head baseball, track, football and at least two other positions. These small schools have lots of turnover and most of it boils down to money issues.

Football is the biggest sport in that school and its not close.  However, Soccer is their most successfull sport due to their large population of Hispanics. Basketball is ok but nothing great.  The band is a big deal to the band students and their parents like any other town.   

This biggest problem is that it isnt a stable place to work.  The school board sucks and is way to involved with things they no nothing about.  This will be their 4th Super in the last 8 years.  As far as the Football program there is a serious lack of talent compared to who they play and guys get sick of losing with no change in sight.  Good place to start a career if nothing else is available at the time.
