NEark tigers

Earle's record is actually 5-2, they should be ranked no lower than fifth.

godgiven999

Cross County all the way up to #3 after beating a overrated EPC team is a little far fetched IMO!

epc was not overrated. its just cc was underrated...

I put them in my top 10 but to jump all the way to #3 is far fetched.

Wolfman34

There's NO WAY McCrory is rated ahead of Des Arc. That's rediculous. Des Arc is way better and will push Hazen Friday. Won't win but will be the best competition yet.

Cause a 6 point win a month ago absolutely proves you are way better...sigh. Rich addressed this point to Pick already in the actual thread, basically it boils down to that at this point his system finds McCrory to be something like .2 points better than Des Arc...You can only objectively look at final scores, Des Arc's rating was hurt by giving up 20 points to Marvell last week. And McCrory was projected as a 14 point favorite over clarendon and won by 44...So, he basically has them at a tie right now.

And Yes I know somebody will go well Marvell scored on a 2nd stringers, but when doing a system that rates over 200 teams in a state where we're beginning to have trouble to get all the scores even for some of the upper class teams, you can't look at things like that. Cause I could get on here and say well Hector only beat Union Christian by 17 this week cause we started our 9th grade team instead of our Senior starters, and you'd have to take it as a fact if you took everyone elses statements to...

Its just the numbers. Rich puts them in and the computer spits them. We were probably favored in that game which gave them a big jump. It will sort out by playoff time.

I got a question JC has only beat three teams with winning records, right. Which are smackover, bearden and Rison and the rest won a total if what four?

And bearden supposely was number two in 2a and they got own!... So again, how do they come up with these numbers?

According to this information everthing is subjective and if a team is supposed to blow them out by 40 and dont... It hurts them and example of that is when DA played Marvel.. Score was 40-0 at half and ended up being 40-20... So running up the score is expected!!!

JC this year could win state in 2A/3A. Be decent in 4A. Maybe make the playoffs in 5A and maybe win a few games in 6/7A.

dragondad

If you go by the predictors, JC could make the playoffs in 6A.

Should AR go to a point system for playoffs like LA does?

BigLion10

I think JC could win 4A

half the teams in 6A makes the playoff...so thats 8 out 16... some of the worst football played in the state occur in the 6A. that why we have a 6A instead of placing all 6A and 7A team in one classification.

a big "NO WAY" on this pipe dream...JC is good by not that good!

Dragon I

I would like JC's chances against Warren.

Mohawk 54

I agree with Dragon I, They would give Warren all they wanted.

footballfrenzy

You folks are crazy. Smackover has a good team, but Charleston is light years better than Smackover. JC would not win 3A, let alone 4A. They would be competitive in 2-4A, that's about it.

Dragon I

Most years you would be correct.  JC has a ton of talent this year, and great depth.

Sportswindbag

A couple of points here.  I believe JC could compete for state titles in 3A and 4A not that they would necessarily win but they could compete with anyone in those classifications. They can compete with most of the 5A and 6A with the exception of the very top teams in those classes due to the quality of the depth at the bigger schools.
And in 6A, 12 out of the 16 teams make the playoffs.

fast backs for jc 2.0 50 thats fast.  lol with this speed they should be able to win the High School nationals

gatecrasher

This JC team, this year's team, would compete in virtually every class except 7A.
They wouldn't win 6A, but they would compete.
They could get to the title game in 5A IMO.

They could win 4A and 3A.

Some of you have no idea of the depth, speed, size and physicality of this team. Easily the best Dragon team of this era in all phases IMO.

And the EDNT figures all 14 can run a 2.2  forty. :-)

Football participation rate might drop if there were a Dragon tennis or bowling team though. I wouldn't think there'd be as high of a puke participation rate during 2-days in those sports. :-)

Quick take them out of football we definitely have some new world record holders. ;D JC had I thought 17 freshman at the first of the year. It was impressive at the size of some of those freshman line, 5'10'', 230 lbs. I know against strong last night in the 4th quarter it was a whole freshman class on offense and didn't do bad..........

Dragon I

I was very impressed with the freshmen against Strongs' starters.  If coach had opened up the play book for them it would have been really fun.

They had 3 backs that showed some skills, and that soph. CJ has some moves............

Now DI, the 9th graders looked pretty good, but those Bulldogs weren't exactly fresh off the bus at that point in the game.

Got to go with bleu on that observation, poor Strong didn't have but about 4-5 players on the sideline with the freshman moved up. Most of those never went out of the game............

Dragon I

LOL, no, they weren't.   I just expected the size and maturity difference to be enough to stop our Jr high better than that.

dragondad

Sat next to a ninth grade parent. He said they had 18 total but only 14 moved up, the other 4 are having issues with grades. 51 total is what I counted last night, 9th-12th.

Ball Hawk

lol.....some of you people posting have no idea about football. I won't even go into all the things that go against JC but just basic things are depth and size when playing 4a-7a teams.

JC would compete for 3A title, that's it.

They wouldn't sniff a title in 4A-7A. That's not a knock on them, because a 2A school should never be able to win state titles against teams that high up.

They are a great team though. Top 20 in the state? No.

Top team in 2A and would be a great team in 3A? Yes.

You seem to be the one lacking in football knowledge. Prime example PC made the 3a playoffs every year when playing 3a, they don't do that in 2a. Your dealing with 15-17 year old kids. They are just as talented in 2a as 7a, there's just not as many to choose from. Can 2a compete week in and week out no, but they could as long as they stayed healthy. Three time Eldorado state champions had a few JC boys playing on some of their teams. There's 68 on their roster, 37 on JC's, that's the main difference. But move up the freshman 68/51 not all that much difference then. If their wasn't the talent you claim is not there then there wouldn't be the college coaches showing up every week............ ;)

THA TRUTH

Horrible example using PC cause these teams now don't have near the talent as those PC teams that's why they made the playoffs
