While it is still over one month to the start of the football season, we wanted to make sure folks had time to find this contest given the adjusted structure of the FF forums.
Since we still have a good bit of time before the contest starts, a comment made at the end of last year was that perhaps the contest needed a tweak or two. If that is the case, now is the time to start that discussion. If you have any ideas on a change(s) to this game, please post it and we can discuss.
Absent any changes, this year's version will work just as last year's did.
This will be a season long contest on predictions for just the Arkansas game.
How to play:
1. Predict the final score of the game.
2. Entry must be submitted prior to kickoff. Time stamp on FF will be used.
Scoring:
1. Correct Winner = 25 points
2. Getting Arkansas Score Exactly Correct = 30 points
3. If not exact, amount you miss it by subtracted from 30 = your score
4. Repeat process for opposing team.
5. Exactly guessing winning margin = 30 points
6. If not exact on margin, you subtract the amount you missed it by from 30 to get your score. If you miss the winner, you will not score here.
Examples:
DipstickDude Predicts Arkansas 31 Jacksonville St 10
Final Score is Arkansas 45 Jacksonville St 9
Scoring would be:
Winner Correct = 25
Arkansas's Score = 30 - (45-31) = 16
Missouri St's Score = 30 - (10-9) = 29
Margin = 30 - (36 actual -21 predicted) = 15
Total Score: 85 out of a max possible of 115.
Your season score will accumulate with the your best 10 scores counting. We will play through the LSU game.
Grand Prize: TBD, but it'll be something worth around $25 or so. Even if I handle it myself.
