seven, I have a question concerning the 5A West boys tiebreaker points for Harrison of games played to this date.

I'm counting 1+0+3++1+0+1+0=6 like you have, but I was wondering on the Harrison/Greenbrier game that I have in bold.  It ended, Harrison 1 (4) Greenbrier 1 (2).  Shouldn't Harrison have 2 points for that game instead of 1 point?  Just wondering buddy.

Postal,

Victories that occur as a result of kicks from the mark (i.e. penalties) are recorded as a 1 goal victory for the winning team regardless of the score(s) occurring in penalties.  In the example you note above, after tying in regulation at 1 all, Harrison did prevail in KFTM (penalties) 4-2 but the rule for recording the final score is to record it as a 2-1 Harrison victory.

At least part of the basis for that rule is to NOT allow goals scored in KFTM (penalties) to count in tiebreaking procedures since they were not scored in open play.

Some upcoming West conference games that got my attention...
Boys:
Harrison@LRCA:  Maumelle is cheering for a Goblin win.
Maumelle@LRCA:  Will be a heck of a game.
Morrilton@Clarksville:  TBA.  Goblins are curious.
Clarksville@Vilonia:  Goblins wanting a Veagle win.

Girls:
Harrison@LRCA:  Will be a heck of a game.  Winner could take all.
Greenbrier@Harrison:  LRCA is cheering for a Lady Panther win.
Maumelle@LRCA:  Lady Goblins are cheering for a Lady Hornet win.

This can change after Friday's games...

Could you please explain the game grids for a novice.
I don't understand GW1, GW2, Twin, GP1 etc.

Good morning Texcards,

Here is the short version - first of all, please take a look at this thread to see how the standings and records used to appear.

The new version this year allows Google Sheets to do a good bit of the work that previously was done by hand.
What you are seeing in the game grids are a series of checks and balances so one can quickly tell the sheet is working as it should.  Thanks to Chief Osceola (who initially developed the solution for basketball standings), I don't have to do nearly as much manual entry and manipulation of the standings as I once did (again, check out the 2014 version of the schedule and standings - all of that was manual...)

Essentially, GW1, GW2, Twin (and the rest) is/are the guts to what makes the rest of the sheet work as it does.  They are a series of checks and balances that help determine the source of any problems I may have introduced.

For example:
GW1 - games won in the first half of the conference season
GW2 - games won in the second half of the conference season
TWin - total wins (GW1 + GW2)

All of this works on the data entered - for example:

May 8   Cabot   6   West Memphis   0   6   3   Cabot

The score of the game was Cabot 6, West Memphis 0 (those numbers are manually entered)
The 6 after West Memphis' 0 is the difference in the final score (auto calculated)
The 3 after the 6 is the max allowed goal differential (auto calculated)
The Cabot after the 3 is the winner of the game (auto calculated)

All of that data feeds the standings page.
