Junction's full student count for 9-10 grade average should be somewhere around 173.33.

2014-2015    58  66  52  58.67
2015-2016    65  52  61  59.33
2016-2017    50  62  50  55.33
                                173.33

https://adedata.arkansas.gov/statewide/Schools/EnrollmentByGrade.aspx?year=27&search=junction%20city&pagesize=10

Since 2014-2015, the ADE numbers have both the AR and LA kids in the chart.  For 2013-2014 and before, the ADE made available a second file to the AAA that would have been added to primary file so all kids would be counted.  Since 2014-2015, there is no need to add the two files together and if the files are added together, the LA kids would be counted twice.

Now where a count of 170 to 175 or so would put a school, I couldn't tell you.

172 is the lowest number for 3A. CHG had one less body than that. That's why they went down for a cycle.

Since 2014-2015, the ADE numbers have both the AR and LA kids in the publicly available chart.  For 2013-2014 and before, the ADE made available a second file of the LA kids to the AAA that would have been added to primary file so all kids would be counted for athletic classification.  Since the ADE patched their software for 2014-2015 and forward, there is no need to add the two files together and if the files are added together now, the LA kids would be counted twice.

Now where a count of 170 to 176 or so would put a school, I couldn't tell you.

If the cut line falls that much, I'd agree JC stays.

I think last reclass cut line was 185 with JC at 186. I still believe AAA doubled up the LA kids in the second and third years of the formula for that cycle. I don't see how JC could have averaged 186 for the last cycle calculation.

Proud Buckaroo

It maybe possible that Smackover has lost one of their players... One of their very best players at that.

Transferring or just quit?

Moving. Because of some issues that happened. Not going to really post what happened. But I just hate the see the kid go. He was so talented.

Geographical sense couldn't even break up the 3a-5 last year when fouke and Genoa appealed conference assignments based on mileage and travel times....

2a board says Coach Strickland is going to Mineral Springs as asst. in football and head baseball. Congrats to him on leaving Smorphlet.

Proud Buckaroo

Yep. He was going to be our JR coach until he could find a better job. That's Good for him though. He gets to be back down in that area. He used to Coach at Dierks a while back. They will enjoy him.

The team that shut them out got the same thing Smackover got at the end of the season. A participation trophy. 🤔🤔
The Smackover has been getting a lot of participation trophies since 1949.

Those on the bucks schedule better to be ready to play a motivated bunch of young men next fall

Because none of the other teams in the state will be motivated?

Proud Buckaroo

New coach. New system. Better offseason training. New offensive package.

Also, new assistant coach by the way.. Mike brought one of the staff members with him.

He's saying they are going to be super motivated and ready to set the stage for change.

old.dole

What's the name of the guy he brought with him?

By itself, it was a ridiculous statement. He should be glad he has you to expound on his thoughts.

Other places call them trainers or strength coaches. 1st ever medicine coach.
The medicine coach gets paid more.  If youre teaching a high school class, running the book fair every year and also being the medicine coach, you should be paid more.  But that's just me.
