The 3a-4 coaches got it right. I'm glad Drew Young  and Garrett Loughridge made the list. Very deserving. Congrats to all the men.

I have a question. Why is  that the higher the classification,  it seems every team gets one or two all staters.  And in 3A only the top three teams get a pick.  Are there no players on the 4th place team and lower not all state caliber ?  I'd like to hear from someone from each conference weigh in on this.

4a only gets 8 players for all state per conference just like 3a whereas 5a gets over 20 per region!

It takes less athletes to win in the lower classifications, normally. If you have an all state player or 2, you will usually finish well.

In 3A each conference gets four [so-called] skilled and four [so-called] non-skilled players. The coaches within the conference vote on and select those eight players. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don't (2014)

Anyway, that's what I was told..

You apparently have someone in mind. What kids got left out in some of the conferences?

ChucktownTiger

Based on this years performance, I think they got it right for the 4-3A. Can't really say for the others though.

No one in particular, just noticed the lower classes didn't have as many choices.

nastynice

Not as many game changers in the lower classes.

Is there such a thing as Honorable Mention All-State??

No.

Just All-Conference.

There is such a thing as honorable mention All-Conference.
