Oh wow. According to maxpreps strong is 1-7 (doesn't include the Hampton game) and not playing the strongest schedule.

Doesn't bode well for the h-town bulldogs.

Hampton got beat tonight by Emerson 71-55 in semis of their own tournament. Emerson beat Strong in first round by around 35. Emerson plays in finals tomorrow (Friday) night against Parkers Chapel. Emerson is now 10-3, with 2 losses to Kirby.

Dermott has really good athletes. Emerson lost to them in overtime, only played 5 players that night. 2 regulars missed Dermott game. Dermott, like Emerson, has a first-year coach. They are just started to jell, and should take off during their conference season.
Emerson now has a good rotation with an eighth player really coming on strong since holiday break. 2 starters got benched the Hampton game for most of first quarter. Emerson took off once they got in the game.

You could tell Hampton had really good athletes. #11 is a special player. #3 also appears to be a really good player, but was either ill or out of basketball shape, because he was a non-factor by midway of the second quarter. If he gets in shape, Hampton may have themselves a dynamic duo, but they're no Kirby.
