Hogfan167

Augusta over Rector 66-34.

Pick_DA_EAGLES

Augusta is supposed to be decent, they will most likely finish 2nd in the 6.

Hogfan167

Rector is a bottom feeder in 2A-3 this year but still an impressive win for Augusta.

bdubyab60

Augusta definetly has talent more than likely a regional team and state tourney team. Rector has one kid over 6 foot and no where near the athletes to contend with Augusta. This outcome is not surprising.

Any score on the EPC/Sloan game. I'm stuck at work

Hogfan167

EPC wins it 76-64. About a 20 point game  when reserves came in.

bdubyab60

Sounds like EPC played a little better. I was expecting a closer game.

Pick_DA_EAGLES

Yea, i wasn't basing my opinion of Augusta off the rector game. I had heard they were pretty good, not on clarendons level, but good.

bdubyab60

Not knocking on anyone's opinion Pick. Augusta has been as talented as any team, pretty much, the past couple of years. IMO they are a head coach away from being really good instead of just good.

I know you weren't bdub. If they make it to state, then the 6 will be represented by 2 teams.

Augusta always plays us hard. They have the athletes but not the stamina to run n gun the whole game.

I agree with this.  They are one of the few local teams that I worry will slip up on us in any given game.  We've played them the last few years as non conference so we are familiar with them and never assume a win.  They will definitely be regional contenders and depending on their seeding into state will make it a couple rounds.

There's something about the schools starting with the letter "B".

Hogfan167

For sure, there does seem to be a pattern there.

bay and brookland...

From what I hear these days there is one more "B" that needs to be added.

mtindian42

why is tech and Paragould not playing in the nea? Jonesboro left because they could beat everyone in it by 30 if they wanted to. I get that, but I don't understand why tech and Gould or not in it...fact I thank in a one game scenario one of the lower schools could beat eather of those...just my opion...
