Title: College "Gaming" scholarship
Post by: phdefense on June 20, 2014, 05:10:04 pm
And it has begun.

For the uninitiated. League of Legends has brought professional gaming to a world wide level. With a 16 team league(The LCS) with 5 members on each team. Players have a base salary of 30k which can then be supplemented with incentives that can make it a 6 figure income. China, Korea & SE Asia also have professional LOL leagues independent of the LCS. Their top teams however are eligible to participate the LOL world championship. Whose 2013 finals had 32 million viewers and sold out the Staple's Center within 30 minutes of tickets going on sale.

Back to the topic of the post though, it appears LOL has now broken the ice on people being able to further their education via gaming. I guess times are a changing.
