I'm a little confused! Melbourne ran through state and only had 1 girls make all State?

It's doesn't to me! Nobody really came close to them did they? And some of these teams got 2 or more!

Here is the way it works and it's a flawed system because you will never get an All State team with the best player's in the state on it. Each conference gets 3 All State players and each conference's coaches vote and decide how to divide that number up. Some conferences give the winner all 3 and some do not. This past year the 2A-3 girls conference had 2 teams play for a state title and another in the semi-final. The 2A-3 probably had 9 legitimate All State players in it Melbourne-4 Riverside-3 and Marmaduke-2. There were a lot of players named All State out of weaker conferences that were clearly not as good as the 6 other players that did not make it from the 2A-3 and probably some other players in other conferences but that is the system the AAA has set up. What this means is you can be the 4th best player in the state but if the 3 best players in the state are from your conference then you don't have a chance at getting All State for the season. All State tournament is also a flawed system. If you lose the first game in the state tournament you get 1 player but if you win your first two games and lose in the semi-final guess how many players you get on the All State Tournament team? If you guessed 1 you were right. Nothing about either system makes any since.
