Glad to see a bit of a discussion on this.  Casey and his staff had VB looking like a different team.  When Alma cut it down to 42-33 there was a time when VB would have folded up. That was a good sign.  And it looks like Coach Chick had VB tackling the Greenwood way.  In other words, not missing them.

Yawn.... Alma is not Springdale, Fayetteville, Benny, or Benny West..... They'll beat Heritage and then split with Rogers and Harber because Harber is way down. Come back and talk to us when Van Buren finishes 6th in the 7A West.

VB is likely on borrowed time in the 7A West, as all signs point to reclassification in next cycle. I don't think there is any disillusioned enough to think VB is a power player in 7A this year, but a win snapping a long losing streak (13 games or so and a 7 year streak to a team 2 classes below you)  is a better start than another loss.
Kudos to VB for the win. Not sure why the hostility or apathy towards VB, unless you just dislike Casey Dick. It's been a revolving door for coaching for sometime, and it may be again, but gotta start somewhere.

It's pretty clear if Alma had not dropped GW this year that streak would have gotten pretty close to at least 15-16 years of consecutive losses potentially, maybe more.
