2A 7-West

[BLUEBLOOD]

I've seen several of these teams play so far this season, but conference play starts this week.  Here are my thoughts (in case anyone cares).

Pre-season ranking (In my opinion):
Springhill: still the team to beat, sound fundamentally and proven pitcher
Foreman: best offensive team, defense & pitching will determine how far they go
Dierks: young team, young pitching, maturity will be the x factor
Murfreesboro: unproven pitching, lineup is top-heavy but good
Gurdon: much improved, could push to be in top 4
Laf County: haven't seen them this season

I can see this district playing out in about 4 or 5 scenarios, but SH has to be the favorite given their success and returning a bunch of players who won it all last season.  Foreman's bats (if hot) are good enough to knock off SH.  Dierks or Murfreesboro would have to play a really clean all-around game to beat SH.  This district has bunched up some just in time for my Outlaws to go to 1A next season.
