Shootout of the South is June 16-17

Just got word there is no Sonic Air Raid this year.

Batesville Southside will be hosting a 7 on 7 tournament on June 2.

Below is the information.  Email kenny.simpson@southsideschools.org if you are interested:

Southside 7 on 7
Overview
Southside will be hosting our 5th annual 7 on 7 tournament on June 2nd starting at 9:00am (coaches meeting at 8:30am).  Each team is guaranteed 5 games (3 in pool play and 2 in tournament play).  The cost is $150 per team entered.  We will alternate play on our turf field and our practice field.

Lunches are also available (burger/chips/drink) for $5 through our concession stand (need to let Coach Simpson know a number the week before).  Coaches will have a hospitality room and be taken care of for free.

Wow. Have any idea why?
My only guess is that with Mote gone, there wasn't anyone to organize it between Searcy and Harding Academy.  At one time, they were running it together.  Not sure if that's how its been the last few years.

I believe that outside of Fountain Lake's tournament, it was the longest running 7 on 7 tournament in the state.  I remember going back in maybe '03 or '04 when there were 8 teams and it was played on the practice fields.

It would be nice if the Southwest Elite wasn't on the same weekend as Hoover again this year.

From another thread...

The Benton Panthers will be hosting their Annual 7 on 7, 16 team tournament Tuesday June 13th.  Guaranteed 4 games to each team.  It will be hosted at our top of the line stadium and indoor facilities.  Contact bobby winn bwinn@bentonschools.org or brad harris bharris@bentonschools.org for more info.

CoachRob

Little Rock Mills will be Hosting a 7 on 7 tournament July 13th.

We are looking for 12 teams (Max).  Each team will be guaranteed 4 games. (3 pool play + Tournament)
Anybody interested can contact our Head Coach Patrick Russell prussell6000@pcssd.org or (me) Eroberts4201@pcssd.org. Cost is only $100 per team.

Thanks

Today is Bryant's 7 on 7.  So far Warren is 3-0, with wins against Ashdown 41-14, Sheridan 29-0, and Fairview 34-7.

Man.

How did the tournament finish?

jimbojack

Benton put the Jacks out. They play Bryant in the final.

On a brighter note. Warren hammered the Scrappers and their "best 4a WR corps" according to Hootens.  That's laughable.

All really bad 7 on 7 teams.  You would think Ashdown would be good with 3 d1 offers but nope, awful

Eye opening post. Thank you.

Ashdown, with those d1 DBs, should have at least slowed warren down in a highly important 7 on 7 game.
