Bleu, do you happen to have the jr district bracket?

Both brackets are on the Junction City public Schools Facebook page but they're a little hard to read.  Here's the Boy's bracket:

All I've seen so far is the regional.  I figure one will show up among EDNT, JC FB or JC webpage.

Per the linked article from Friday's EDNT:

"Junction City has been in Searcy since Tuesday and has worked out at Riverview High School preparing for its first round game against Brinkley."

MomaLion

Good thing they had a place to practice.

MomaLion

Sorry, I hadn't read the article ;D

Pick_DA_EAGLES

Riverview school is right behind the hotel they are in.

mr.gametime

How many players do y'all have ...I swear it looked like y'all had about 20 players on the team.

CT

Yeah there's 20 players on the team.

mr.gametime

Wow that's a lot for a 2A school...but atleast they all get to be part of the team largers schools do try outs and cuts... and will only have like 14 or so on the team

I'm sure they do tryouts...even Clarendon does and has cuts and we don't have anywhere close to JC numbers.

THA TRUTH

MomaLion

mr.gametime

I figured they didn't.... Not with 20 players on a roster

mr.gametime

Moma lion I'm surprised y'all do tryouts ...most  2A schools dont

thabeast428

Some r freshman that moved up

CT

4 freshmen moved up at the end of the year

dragondad

I think ten of them are 9th graders. Only 15 on the bench are eligible to take the court during tourney, I believe. The other 5 get to dress out and travel but not play. At least that's the way I understood it.

Five average from each of the four grades doesn't seem too amazing for a school that won a state championship in 2007 and has had a good shot at getting to the state tournament for each of the last 10 years or so.  Couldn't find a roster, but here's the pic from regional:

I don't know about the number of freshman, but DD hit the nail on the head with the 15 eligible limit:

"Number of Players Allowed - A maximum of fifteen players may be on the official score book.  NO SUBSTITUTIONS SHALL BE MADE AFTER A LIST IS SUBMITTED TO THE SCORER FOR A TEAM'S FIRST GAME, but if fewer than fifteen are listed initially, additions may be made in later sessions to a total of fifteen. Substitutions may be made between regional and state tournaments but not between state semifinals and finals. (Teams may dress out more than 15.)"

Not ten Freshmen, not sure what I was thinking. I count 5 Freshmen and 4 Sophomores, five JR'S, and six SR's.

CT

There are 8 seniors and then 4 jrs, sophomores, and freshmen on the team

MomaLion

Coach Hudson only allows 12-13 on the team so they have tryouts.

Does Hudson let the 9th graders join the senior high team after the jr high season is over?

MomaLion

Yes, they played in Sr district and regionals.

I'm sorry can't remeber his name but the big left handed kid,is any body looking at him, to me he has D1 talent big, quick, soft touch and can handle ball. And I think he out jump qualls for the hogs. I think the sky is limit for this kid. Yall have a lot of talented players but this kid is a special one I think.
