I'm sure the list of applicants would be a lot longer if it wasn't this late in the game. It's almost May. Spring football has already started at most, if not all places.

If I had to guess, they will name Moreland the interim and let him have a prove-it 2024. If it doesn't go well, they'll open it back up after the season.

Bauxite is the team I see with the highest upside of anyone in 4A outside of the usual contenders we think of in 4A. If they just play average defense they go into that category of top 5 ish teams potentially. I view them and CAC the same. They don't even need great defense. Happens in multiple sports to Greenwood, too.

These are good points. It also works vice versa too.... upperclassmen don't appreciate being replaced by freshmen or sophomores and see the writing on the wall in those scenarios as well. This is part of the reason why GW lost QB's to Mansfield and Elkins.  It should be mentioned seen Alma, VB, GW, NS, SS all lose kids to each other as well as the smaller surronding schools.
