How is this poll done? And what exactly do the numbers represent? Sorry if the answer is obvious and I'm a dummy.

I think parentheses is first place votes. Next is record. Then total points off of polling, probably 1st, 2nd, 3rd place votes, not sure how much each is worth. And then last number should be previous week poll position.

Emerson got a first place vote?
+1 . I wonder if one of the voting media members is from that area or just randomly picked a name from a hat.

In the same poll, MVE girls are ranked behind WSGF after beating them 20 @ WSGF.

At least it's something people can discuss though.

I find that interesting as well.  I'm an Eagle fan, and I see no reason for Westside girls to be ranked ahead of MVE.  I've seen nothing to make me believe, unless they step up, for the Top 2 positions of conference to end up being anybody but Wonderview and MVE.

I think that vote was for next year or the year after.........Emerson has one senior and 10 or so sophmores and their Jr girls are something like 15-1.......I know, I know, they are in south Arkansas and nobody down here can play a lick........

The girls haven't been so hot in the last 5, years or so 🤷 lol

Emerson does look to be solid though ..

Concord girls should be in top 5. Ahead of mve.

Mr. Pappagiorgio

Concord girls should for sure be in top 5, they are sitting at second in that loaded conference. There is however one highly overrated team in that conf.

did concord girls beat mve recently about 15 points?  I ask that question cause I was not there, heard it?

And who would that be?
I'd say  Wonderview! Concord is very good, I was impressed with the win over MVE. If they keep playing like that they may win district in that conference. Wonderview is the most overrated girls team. They will be lucky to win game one in state this year.

Guess the conference is overrated because nobody has beat them in conference yet. But hey don't let facts get in the way of your narrative bear 94

I'll agree they aren't as good as years past IMO, but 20-5(11-0) in what many call the toughest conference in 1a doesn't equal overrated at this point 😂🤣

🙄 lol ok. What about Westside? I bet y'all think they should be ranked?

riccoar

Seems it was Wonderview and Mount Vernon-Enola who played for State Championship last year if I remember correctly.  Now, they don't have every single player from those teams, but they both return players who know what it takes to get there.  I will concede that Wonderview is pretty much a 1-2 punch in #5 and #23, but nobody in their conference has been able to figure out a way to contain those enough to beat them.  Viola is the only 1A school to beat them, and that was when #23 was gone on a recruiting visit for softball.  I expect both Wonderview and MVE to go deeper than just one win in State.

I think they should be ranked.  Not ahead of MVE, but I'd say they are next in their conference after Wonderview and MVE.  They have beaten Concord 2 out of the 3 times they have played.  Much like they did from when these squads were in Junior High.

Don't worry y'all. Bears 94 will come out next week claiming that wonderview is a lock to win it all. I believe they're what politicians call a flip flopper.

Where was the MVE WSGF game played at?  Score differential?  That determines how I would rank them.  Wonderview is def deserving.  That Coach is new and still has kept them really high ranked which is impressive.

Because they are better than the rattlers.
When you compare the games against common opponents the rattlers point margin is greater than Calico's.

A fearless prediction.......ICC will have to beat 3 teams (from among Dermott, Kirby, Bradley, Nevada) to win the state championship........hence, apart from ICC only, Region 4 is toughest Region in boys.......and Region 4 is in south Arkansas........that should draw some comments from above the Little Rock line......

I can't remember the last time a region in the south has been the best.  The toughest region for years has been in the North/northeast part of the state, and that will continue this year.

Sports Loser

ICC wins it no doubt!  I've watched them multiple times.  They have dismantled quite a few large classifications and hung with Conway and NLR.  That region might be good I hope they are because I think it's been awhile since they have been really good.  Maybe Dermott and ICC will meet again

Sports Loser

Dermott does have a good resume though beat some good teams.  I would like to see them at the end of the season but prob have to wait and see if they make it to state

Well without looking to make sure region #'s stayed the same....ICC draws the 2 seed in the 2nd round, wouldn't see the 3 seed until the semi finals...and obviously the 1 seed in the finals...

Then you can't be over 15 yrs old, otherwise you would remember  McNeil, Wabbaseka, Parkdale, Saratoga, Delight, Emerson Kingsland...etc........

Secondly, Region 4 currently has 4 teams ranked in top 10 .....ICC's region has how many.......ICC won't face anyone of consequence until 2nd round of state.......Dermott, Bradley, Nevada are all in same District, then add Kirby in the regional.......

I don't think there will be that much difference between the 1, 2 or 3 seeds out of Region 4.......all will be a very tough out..........

Rankings mean nothing.  How many people that put these rankings together have actually seen all these teams play?  I'll promise you their is 3-4 teams in region 2 that would beat all the teams in region 4.  It's kind of like the SEC motto "It just means more up north!"    ;D
