Two programs with comparable traditions finally face each other on the gridiron. Unlike the other top seeds, certain circles are still skeptical of 4A-4 champions, so with that perceived weakness in mind, a major factor will lie in how much the Hillbillies step up to the challenge, because the Jackrabbits are good enough to sweep them aside if they don't. Should the home team play its best, though, there are at least a couple of things that Lonoke could find difficult to deal with: 1) Overall team speed that can make a difference at the point of attack, and 2) the team's best scoring defense since 2012 that is much better at tackling than Prairie Grove. Overreliance on the Elkins game film might also prove hazardous.

Hamburg @ Robinson (20)
Unlike 2012, R1's home teams will face each other. The Lions have settled into a steady postseason rhythm of late; since said R1 exit in 2012, they've won at least one playoff game every year. Reaching the gobbles for the 2nd time in that span, though, will be a tall order this season in the face of one of 4A's stronger teams. So long as rooting for Lonoke doesn't prove distracting, the Sens should move on comfortably.

Heber Springs @ Rivercrest (20)
Pocahontas was threatening to do it again, but the Panthers roared back to avoid being the Brats' 2nd-straight R1 shock. Unfortunately, such a struggle is a bad look in the face of a higher seed from the same conference, eve if it did take a while for said team to pull away from Fountain Lake. Last year's 3A champ was expected to make noise in the preseason, and they do not intend to disappoint.

Helena-West Helena (10) @ Dumas
Here's a rematch of each other's 4A-8 opener, which was won by the Bobcats. It probably would've been a near-guarantee to reach the gobbles had the Cougars not won two straight against higher-seeded teams, even if it did take beyond fulltime to score anything on Pea Ridge. HWH is convinced that they can make it to the Rock, and even though they'll face tougher competition after this week, getting revenge at Tidwell Field would provide a huge shot in the arm.

Dardanelle @ Stuttgart (20)
These two teams might feel connected at the hip recently, especially with Josh Price between them. The Lizards' comeback over Westside was one of the grittiest in program history, made more impressive in the light of Jordan Metcalf's absence. The Ricebirds are also without a major player in David Walker, but the week off does provide a replacement in Davian Mayo. A lower-scoring affair might not bee too surprising considering the circumstances, but Stuttgart is still the best team Dardy has faced since Ozark.

Arkadelphia @ Warren (10)
I wonder if anyone expected the rematch to last year's 4A title game to be this early? The events from near the end ought to weigh heavily on both sides, but they did pretty well to avoid potential distractions in routing their R1 opponents by a combined 81-14. The Jacks still have a strong foundation even without Burks, and between Week 10 and the revenge angle, it would be a bit hard to shift their focus.

Mena @ Shiloh (20)
The Bearcats are to the 1 what Heber is to the 3, and all the improvements made during the season will be put to the test against their toughest opponent since at least Ozark. The Saints barely broke a sweat against Star City last week, and while the young guests are capable of scoring, Shiloh should be good at gauging how their defense holds up.

Bauxite @ Nashville (15)
Playing each other twice in three weeks can prove pretty wild, especially if the first match was decided in OT. Unlike Westside, the Miners were able to right the course with a strong defensive effort at Trumann, but that Pro-T will need to resume its high-scoring trend from earlier in the year if they wat a better chance in the rematch. This may be an even taller order than two weeks ago as the Scrappers forced a goose from who was the once the highest-scoring team in the state.

LR Christian @ Texarkana (15)
It was all but passé to predict an improved record for the Hogs as they dropped from 6A, but to win the 5A-South over a stabilized JLM is still a remarkable feat. The Warriors of Walnut Valley have achieved their own degree of consistency as well, averaging 9 wins the last four years. Arkansas High is one of the few teams capable of limiting LRC's otherwise-explosive scoring.

LR McClellan @ Pulaski Academy (10)
As it turns out, Class 5A also has its title game rematch a bit early, thanks largely to conference shifts. The Bruins' one-man comeback over the (Crimson?) Lions at WMS could go down as one of the great stories of AR HSFB (and I only say "could" because of...certain perspectives). The makings of another classic are also there this year, but for better or for worse, PA still shows little sign of slowing down.
