Batesville @ PA in Semis looks very interesting
Maybe Wynne and Hot Springs in bottom half.

Last year all the 1 seeds seemed to be better than any 2-4 seed.  Which 1 seed is concidered the mostly likely to get beat by a 4 seed?

michael2370

If 1 seeds all make it to semi which two are home teams

If i had to bet the the deed, I would say that Maumelle is the most likely candidate for an upset.  That said, home fields advantage in the first round is large, making an upset unlikely.  I don't have a great memory; what was the last #1 upset by a #4?

The way I understand it, PA & Maumelle

In the past I dont think it mattered.  The team on the top bracket was the home team.

Seems like I read that if a higher seed is matched up against a lower seed.  The lower seed has to travel.  Then if the seeding is even then the team who occupies the top bracket is the home team.

walkingguy72396

I think the last 1 seed to be knocked off 1st round.  Was Forrest City by what-ever team Michael Dyer played for LRCA I think.

Nope, White Hall isnt a good road team. They're a good team, but very iffy. (Hope & DeQueen games prove that)

My choice of Maumelle was purely based on the fact I don't see PA, Batesville, or Hot Springs getting beat. They might all win and probably will.

Well, S4 White Hall beat Hot Springs earlier this year (albeit at WH), and LRCA is a very good 4 seed.  On the converse, if the Bulldog team that played Hot Springs shows up at Maumelle Friday I think they've at least got a shot there.  If it's the Bulldog team that lost to Hope though, I don't want to think about it.

I say LR Christian reamber christian is about 7 or 8 plays from a 8-2 maybe 9-1 season

Hot Springs is to Big on the O-line for LRCA. The Gangsta Warriors won't contain Goffigan & Floyd.

I don't know, the Warriors did a better job against Kirk Baugh than the Trojans did.

Goffigan shreaded everyone in the 5A South ! Even in a loss to WH he was good. WH and The natural loss to Hope , WC and CF. Then struggled with DQ. KB is good. But Anthony Goffigan is the best Qb in the 5A South bar none. #10

This statement makes no sense...Morrilton was a #2 last year and knocked off THREE #1 seeds (C1 - Pulaski Academy, S1 - Hope, E1 - Batesville) en route to a state championship.

Goffigan is not the best QB in the 5a South and I only say that because unfortunately he cant throw. He is however, far and away, the best athlete in the 5a south. He will have his way this Friday with LRCA.

What makes a great QB?  Is it rushing? (that depends on how your OL can open up holes).  Is it passing? (that can depend on how good your receivers are).  Is it both? (being aware how to run a play depending on the situation).  There are a lot of great QBs out there, but I will have to go in the 5A for outstanding QBs, PA and Harrison.  Nothing against any team's QB, but these two QBs have done a fabulous job this season on stats.  IMO.

Without Minix, we'd be middle of the pack in the West.  His ability to run adds another dimension for opposing defenses to account for and gameplan around.  Plus, he throws just well enough to keep secondaries honest.
