Camden Fairview, Hot Springs, Maumelle, and Vilonia can only have one more fan submit a poll. Everyone else is good.

Thanks guys!

Question, why is Sylvan Hills dropping so much after one loss? Just curious...

Lionheart88

Because they play in what's likely the weakest conference in 5A, and lost to a Beebe team that was 3-5 going into the game.

Chief_Osceola™

They haven't been impressive in their recent wins either, at least on paper.  Perception is reality, and unfortunately everyone can't watch every game, so we're kind of like AP voters in that we judge performance by scores and recaps.

Fan of PA

1.  PA 8-1 (0)- Looking good for the 1 seed, just have to take care of business against Sylvan Hills this week.
2.  Batesville 8-1 (0)- Should be well rested before playoffs, the last 3 games of regular season helps their effort.
3.  Wynne 8-1 (0)-  took care of Forest City, now their last test before playoffs.  Can they hold of the Raiders?
4.  Maumelle 8-0-1 (+1)- Defense has earned them a 1 seed! Could the Warriors upset them this week?
5.  Nettleton 7-2 (+2)- Raiders are having a good season, they could make it better with an upset win this week.
6.  Sylvan Hills 8-1 (-2)- Yes, they lost.  Some are dropping them out of their top 10.  But I have been saying it for weeks, Beebe is pretty good with Tripp Smith in the game.
7.  Greenbrier 6-3 (+1)-  Since their early season troubles their only loss is to the team who has already locked up the 1 seed...
8.  Hot Springs 5-4 (NR)- Probably shouldn't have dropped them all the way out last week.  The South is a mess though...
9.  Beebe 4-5 (NR)- I know some will frown at this, but the Badgers have only lost to PA since getting their running back returned from a nasty hand injury. I think if he wasn't out this team may be 7-2 on the year.
10.  Camden Fairview 6-3 (-4)- This is a significant drop for the Cardinals.  It doesn't have as much to do with the loss to Hot Springs as it does going back to the loss against Magnolia.  Magnolia got beat by DeQueen! Nothing personal against the Leopards, but they are not a good football team.  Some people had Magnolia in their top 10 earlier in the year and the only win in conference is against Camden Fairview!... :o

Dropped out: Watson Chapel and White Hall

pantherblue

Greenbrier has had a good year minus the Morrilton game.. That one is still a head scratcher for me...  The other loss was to Benton who is undefeated this year in 6A and Maumelle who is undefeated in 5A west play....  If they take care of business they should end up with the 2 seed and the annual meeting with Batesville...

Fan of Harrison

1. Pulaski Academy (8-1)
2. Batesville (8-1)
3. Wynne (8-1)
4. Maumelle (8-0-1)

5. Hot Springs (5-4)
6. Harrison (5-4) (see side note)
7. Greenbrier (6-3) (see side note)
8. Sylvan Hills (8-1)
9. Watson Chapel (5-4)
10. Camden Fairview (6-3)

Also consIdered:  LR Christian (5-4), Nettleton (7-2), White Hall (4-5), Forrest City (4-5), HS Lakeside (4-5), LR McClellan (5-4)

Side note:  I still don't think GB is the better overall West team in the West above the GOBS, using pts scored against the other West opponents played at this time:

against same teams:
vs Melle
GB L -14 gobs L -14 = 0 both
vs lrca
GB W +7 GOBS W +22 = 22-7 = 15 gobs
vs motown
GB L -8 GOBS W +15 = -8+15= 23 gobs
vs cvlle
GB w +37 GOBS W +49 = 49-37= 12 gobs

Against each other:
vs each other
GB W +10 GOBS L 0 = 10-0=10 GB plus gets H2H pts win by +10 at GOBS home = 20 GB

Against games not played yet:
vs Fming
GB W +25 GOBS pending = 25 GB
vs Veagles
GB pending GOBS +13 = 13 GOBS

GB +55 GOBS +63

(Another side note after 9 games:  Harrison QB leads the State in passing yards, followed by PA QB who did verbal comment to Tulsa, followed by Charleston QB who did a verbal comment to Arkansas. ;) ;D ;) ).  See their videos on maxpreps.com.

Might be closer if the aforementioned Charleston quarterback had to play after halftime in most games ;)

Here, Here!!!  Same with the PA QB, he has missed around 2 1/2 conference games due to mercy rules at halftime.

I'll take wins over passing yards every time.    ;)

Stats are meaningless. It's about wins and losses... and of course the bond of brothers.

They lost to a Beebe team that has lost only one game since Tripp Smith has been back and that was to Pulaski Academy. Just sayin...

Who else is in Beebe's conference capable of winning a game besides PA?

Sylvan Hills...I don't know much about the central except for PA. The only things I can go by if I haven't seen a team play are conference standings and overall standings. They only have one lost in conference and they only have one lost overall.

Many thought Sylvan Hills was the second best team in the central behind PA... Guess Beebe proved that wasn't true.   PA will spank Sylvan Hills...

Titan Spirit

It will be interesting if Sylvan Hills goes to Wynne. If Sylvan Hills plays a clean game they can score with anyone. They have had some injuries but if Wynne gets to confident could be a good game.

Been my pick from the start since they are senior heavy.

PA will score 50 on Batesville. That is, if the Pansyeers get that far

That's what happened last time Batesville went to PA, right?  Hey, wait a minute....

Yep, Hunter Henry and Co. were pretty much unbeatable:).   The naughty prep boys took quite a spankin' that night!!  Bet that poor P.A. QB still has nightmares.

No, no.  You're confused.  I know you guys beat a team from Batesville, but it was Batesville-Southside that scored 25 points on Heber, not Batesville.  It's okay, you're just a little slow.  But hey, we can't all lose to teams like Newport and Stuttgart.  Shouldn't you just worry about HWHC?
