I'm going to start pick'em threads for the playoffs for each class. I'd love volunteers in each class to score them, but if no one steps up I'll score them. Please let me know if you're willing to take charge. Otherwise, I can't guarantee how quickly I'll have them scored.

Scores will be as follows:

1st round game correct - 2 point
Quarterfinal game correct - 4 points
Semifinal game correct - 8 points
Correct champion - 16 points

Post your state championship score prediction as a tiebreaker.

Your key word is BARELY!!  Last time I checked, LS beat those teams. I would take a win over the word barely any day. How about you?  ;D ---

No argument, I'm just saying that they won against Hope, Dequeen and Watson Chapel. No one cares if they barely won. Ask a Lakeside player, coach or fan if barely mean anything to them  ;D

I have an honest question. Why is nobody giving Hope a chance to beat PA. Hope has all the tools it takes. A great QB, great WRS, big O-Line, great D-Line. Averages about the same points as PA.

Heck I don't give Hope any hope of beating Blytheville so I wouldn't worry about PA.  The Chicks on the other hand match up with PA pretty well that should be a fun game. LOL

We're gonna have to agree to disagree.  I really think it's gonna be good game though.  I also don't think PA is unbeatable this year.  You have to match up and get pressure on D and I think you need to run the ball and control the clock on O shortening the game.

Hope has a chance; but, PA has a 23 game win streak that speaks for itself, i.e. they almost always show up ready to play. That kind of consistency does not happen by accident.

I'm looking at there schedule and they whoop the bad teams but the good teams are 3 possession games or fewer. They beat Wynne by only 14 and only scored 35 points.

I think almost everyone in the state, minus a few PA fans on FF,  has written PA in as the 5A state champs this year, may even have the trophy done already. It sounds to me like they are beatable but you have to match up correctly and play a fairly flawless game. No turnovers and control the clock. If you can keep the ball out of PA's hand and make one or two stops on Defense, they are beatable. Have to get through Blytheville first though.

23 straight. you play whoever shows up and win. then you don't have to make up stories about how you should have or could have won

Well said. They are beatable but generally will not beat themselves. This is not a dominant PA team but they will be primed and ready with what they do bring to the table. All the one seeds have the ability to win state this year IMO

I don't know who "nobody" is, but I certainly haven't said that Hope has no chance to beat PA.  All I've said is that I don't know how good Hope is, and that is the truth.  For all I know, they could be the best team in 5A.

And, I believe that a good team has a chance to win "on any given night."

By the same token, I think some folks get upset by Hope posters who say that Hope cannot be beaten or that they will win state.  Hope may do so, but they can be beaten too.  To say that Blytheville has no chance to beat Hope is just wrong.  They may not do it, but the have a legitimate shot at it.

Hope needs to worry about blytheville. Hope didn't even win their conference and they are ready to crown themselves as state champs. You do realize that the team you lost conference to, Lakeside, lost to the 4 seed from PA's conference? You think the South is the strongest conference for some reason, but I'm not sure why.

Let me help you out Bobcat...you don't just trip over wins against PA. If you don't take it from them you wont get it. Its very few teams that have every guy doing his job EVERY play. PA players are as disciplined as any high school team you will see. Beating themselves is not a option. For every adjustment you make on defense the will counter it on offense. Coaching alone gives them an advantage. I'm Camden Fairview to the bones. The only teams that can say they have owned us is PA and Greenwood. The Batesville team that beat PA in 2012 was not your average team, they were really good. We scored 31 points against you guys without our top 2 options on offense and our scheme is not complicated. Be careful what you ask for when it comes to PA. Not sucking up to them or afraid of them. That's a top notch program.

To beat PA , the recipe is simple but not easy to execute.
1. Get pressure with three guys constantly, a fourth even a 5th rusher must result in a sack.
2. Score when you have the ball. 8 possessions should net no less than 6tds and at least 1fg. Any less you will come up short.
3. No extra possessions for them. No turn overs and most importantly get every onside kick. While this rule alone won't guarantee a win , not completing it will certainly spell defeat.

They are a well coached team that puts pressure on the defense like most everyone else uses defense for pressure. They believe in their system and will not get rattled. This is from seeing team after team break from pressure. If you can harass with rushing three and mixing in an occasional blitz you'll take them out of their rhythm. Follow the recipe above and you'll have what every coach or fan wants for the team to have a chance in the end to win. Watched many other good plans tried , I've seen this work.

PA has probably ordered the rings, shirts, hats, and other items. They will be ready to sell items after the Championship game when they win. I have already placed my order.

I have an honest question. Why is nobody giving Hope a chance to beat PA. Hope has all the tools it takes. A great QB, great WRS, big O-Line, great D-Line. Averages about the same points as PA.

PA Daddyyo, I agree with you on the Hope posters. Especially that Bobcat0011 and FutureBobcatdad. They both need to shut up, go to the game, and cheer for their team...Go Trump

Speaking of ordering things, I hope Lakeside is selling their undefeated conference champs shirts at the playoff games.

Kiss Kiss....someone is kissing and sucking up  ;D
