keeping gaines moving might not be  good idea either....he's been known to get loose and score a few td's that way as well.

Stats for the year on Gaines.
90 comp on 137 attempts for 1267 yards and 12 TDs
70 carries for 596 and 10 TDs
He's only a sophmore.

Senior RB Tyler Brashear
95 carries 690 yds and 17 TDs

Great combo from these two young men.

how is hector a 15 point underdog? don't get me wrong bearden is a good football team and very capable of covering the spread. but I just don't see it...

They're in  weak conference and not playing any top 10 teams. I think the game will be close for the most part. Young is a very dynamic player but Gaines is very impressive, he's thrown 2 perfect games that could be the difference....

Hootens updated the site and has Bearden favored by 15.
Hooties take on the game..........
BEARDEN (15) at Hector: This game came about at 2 p.m. Tuesday when Hector head coach Mark Taylor made the call to Bearden head coach Ernie Horstkamp after Hampton said it would not make the trip Friday to Hector as scheduled. So, No. 5 Bearden plays No. 6 Hector at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hector's Linton Field. Bearden just allowed 410 yards last week in a 43-36 loss to Rison, which controlled the ball for almost 30 minutes of the 48-minute game.  Hector will promote 11 freshman and dress 41 the rest of the season. Sophomore QB Tanner Gaines completed 10 of 10 passes for 160 yards and two TDs last week in a 39-7 win over Decatur, his second perfect passing night this season. He completed 10 of 10 passes Week 4 vs. Western Yell County. Hector's first-team defense held Decatur to less than 100 yards, and Gaines intercepted two passes at safety.
HAMPTON is open.

I like Bearden and their expierenced QB. He'll make enough plays to win a close one.
Tanner Gaines is no slouch, and a heck of a passer, that could be the difference in this game..............

Agreed Cuz, 10 for 10 is strong. Bear defense will have to keep him on the move.
That would be like bringing the chickens to the fox ;)

Got a question slightly related to this thread. I'm looking at Rison here at this link http://www.fearlessfriday.com/division/2A.html

Shouldn't their conference standings show "4-1-0"?

that link took me to the scoreboard...that 8-1-0 on the right is the series results between Rison and Strong since 2001

Just a quick glance shows that the schedules don't have the Rison-J.C game listed as a conference game.

No tHey are a fast team. My observations over the years are that a team.with a lot of speed is more affected.than a slow team. A team who is conservative and runs basically the same plays will not be as affected as a team running multiple formations. Just my own observation....

Just off of last year, Hector likes to run a lot...but the passing game is effective. That and going without an incompletion in a game twice in a season is impressive to me, no matter who you are playing...

What is traffic like between Little Rock and Conway around rush hour? Trying to get a rough estimate on how long we might be in traffic. Haven't had to go that way in long time.

Expect it to take you a minimum of twice the normal travel time....its horrible in evening rush hour. Probably faster to take back roads.

I don't know which is more pathetic, you constantly posting the same comment over and over and over again or the fact that was almost a year ago and you're the only one who cares.  I guess if my team got beat 70 something to 0 in the championship game I would talk about any other team also.

[2014] Bearden (AR) 28
[2014] Hector (AR) 24

And with Hector having the home field advantage, it's probably even.

So...I should probably go turn on the sprinklers tonight, tomorrow and all day Friday right? I hear Bearden doesn't like mud :D

Nope, they don't like playing on a muddy field, cause it only affects them. 😎

I don't know which is more pathetic, you constantly posting the same comment over and over and over again or the fact that was almost a year ago and you're the only one who cares.  I guess if my team got beat 70 something to 0 in the championship game I would talk about any other team also.

Look mr irrelevant, i made a comment on HF's comment. It was a joke. If you don't like my post don't read them. And it was 60-0, so get your story straight.

And its NOT my fault your bears cant beat the EAGLES in a meaningful game.

What is traffic like between Little Rock and Conway around rush hour? Trying to get a rough estimate on how long we might be in traffic. Haven't had to go that way in long time.
They have a lot of construction going on between Conway and Little Rock right now, so may take awhile. I would try and find another route around that area if y'all can. After Conway is smooth sailing to Atkins exit. Safe travels to y'all to and from.

mr.ww

Correction to the Gaines boy's stats. He has 15 passing Tds!!

HorseFeathers

might look at an alternate route if i was you guys....little rock to conway is 3 lanes now but it still gets congested at rush hour....

HorseFeathers

well that's the kiss of death having 12th man pick hector to win...changee it now! Lol

WPWells

how is hector a 15 point underdog? don't get me wrong bearden is a good football team and very capable of covering the spread. but I just don't see it...

Calpreps has it a closer game than hooties.

this was the reason I give it to hector by 2. should be a good one...
No offense Indian but no one will be given anything, this one should be earned down to the final minute....
I meant it as that's why I picked them cuz.and your right this one will be a dog fight...

cuz

The depth of Bearden will be a key factor. If Gsines has a hot hand and some speed in the receivers that could change the game....

i'll have play by play  again this week.....kids are going trick or treating instead of the game. Any of the bearden posters coming up for this one?
I'll be there HF. I'll be helping out on the our tunnel crew.

I'll be there somewhere...depends on th ecrowd, might go traitor and sit on the bearden side lol

Do you expect a large crowd to make the trip up or no?

And Donnie Jamon, yes I changed it for the A part and added it to the C part
We should have a pretty good crowd, they usually travel well for away games. As for Hampton, the talk I've heard Ables is the problem.
Well now I'm not sure about the crowd. A few are crying cause they scheduled the game late and don't want to drive up there. Its nothing against Hector, I believe its just the drive they don't want to do. I know the band and cheerleaders aren't supposed to be coming, could change but I doubt it.

HorseFeathers

That sucks......hoping for safe travels for all the bearden faithful and football team making the trip.

The only way I miss this game is to be without a PULSE!
