Booneville opens the season on a winning note.

Girls beat Western Yell 59-24.  Four girls in double figures.

Boys win as well, 57-40.  Break a 27-game losing streak going back to 2/18/14.

Coach Booneville

Both teams played well.  Hopefully this is a sign of good things coming.

Danville boys got hammered by guy...40 point margin I believe

Charleston Girls doesnt look very good this year thay lost to 2a Hector..

Kitty01

Charleston girls are very very young, three sophomores starting, they will get better as the season goes along. They just have to take care of the ball and not turn it over.

Did hector not look good? They made state last year for first time in 20ish years...

Might be good for 2a, charleston turn the ball over about 20 times and was ahead a lot of the game

In other news, both TR teams won by 30+ over Western Yell

Considerating Booneville beat them by 17 I hope so. I went to the Paris game and I wasn't impressed. Their offense was bad. The point seemed to slow down the ball movement. Hampton looked slow and confused at times. Although on a good note Taylor looked good on defense but Luster kid looked rough. He couldn't create space. He can only shoot or drive off screens. Either way it's early and after Tuesday we will see how Charleston comes out.

Booneville Girls off to a great start.  Lady Cats over Waldron 59-19.

The boys played very hard tonight losing to Waldron 67-61.

Both Booneville teams are a quantum leap from where they were last season.

Booneville girls have looked good.  They are playing hard and look to have a lot of confidence.  Boys are going to be okay, Waldron hit a lot of big 3s early on.

BigMan15

Waldron is a tough team esp #10 can shoot.

Aside from being extremely wild, number 11 was pretty solid too last night.

I look for Booneville to improve over the next few years although they go to 4A.

1-Adam-12

I think so too.  We'll have a good jr. boys group coming up for next season including Ulmer, the two big boys inside and some other good talent.

Our 9th grade girls work hard, but it is the current 7th and 8th graders that has me excited. Very athletic and good size as well.

BigMan15

At Charlestons it's the 8th grade class for boys and esp girls will be so tough come Sr high.
