Anyone have any news on what team should be a contender, what coaches are leaving or arriving. The Moose heard Cedarville and or Lavaca are moving to this conference, is there any truth to this?

-Painted Fan-

Cedarville yes, Lavaca no.
Arrows are staying in the 3A-4.
However, that is for football.
In basketball, baseball, and softball, Lavaca and Mansfield will both join the 3A-1 West.

What are any teams in the conference looking like? It's been far too long since I tried to keep up haha

Footballfanatic14

This will be the weakest conference in the 3A without a doubt. Westfork will be the favorites and other than that who knows. I do doubt that any of these teams make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs! Who knows though anything can happen on any given night!

So after doing some research and using his own personal knowledge, the Moose has put together his predictions for the conference this year!

1) West Fork- Best backs in the conference with a lot of depth at every skill position. Colton Wise returns at Quarteback after throwing for 1300 yards last year. (Didnt start the first 3 games) Brayden Burnett returns, big bruising back With Graham Langston as the Hback. Louie Crawford 2 year starter at receiver is ready for his senior year, the Moose promises he'll out jump any defender you put on him, Bryant Bowerman bulked up a bit this offseason to work along side Louie. Linemen will be the key factor and most likely the reason for any conference loss. Returning only one starter on both sides, but West Fork is coached well enough to find some play makers.

2) Mountain View- Will give West Fork a run for their money this year. Yet they have the past few years. Always playing West Fork close. Returning their scatback from last year is making other teams prepare a little harder. The kid is very talented also returning their QB. Their line will probably be the biggest in the conference. Whats gonna kill them is no depth at all. Those big boys on the line will be bent over and gasping for air late in the 3rd quarter having to play both ways.

3) Elkins- Could upset West Fork or Mountain View. Gonna rely on West Fork Transfer Travis England to step up at Quarterback. A dual threat quarterback will drive defensive coordinators crazy. If he could work on his accuracy a bit he could be deadly. Also a vocal leader he will get others to play with more heart in tough times.

4)Cedarville- Probably considering moving from the 4-3A to the 1-3A one of the biggest blessings they've had in awhile. Competition will be a little easier now. Their quarterback is an athlete but it'll be his first year actually playing the QB position. Has a good target in Abe Hernandez. Cedarvilles biggest strength should be the confidence coming into the 1-3A.

5) Greenland- Honestly the next few teams could end up in any order. The Moose just puts Greenland here due to their tradition here of late. They've learned how to win when they need too but wont have the talent or coaches to put them at the top of this list. Losing their last bit of standout talent with Calvin Giddens the Pirates will be plenty happy to finish 5th in league.

6)Green Forest- They get 6th only because they won conference last year. But the Moose wouldn't be surprised if they finish last. They lost everyone. Like Yellville winning every conference game one year then not winning a game the next. Look for the same with Green Forest.

7) Marshall- Returning a lot of starters, Marshall will push for the 5th spot in conference this year, which also means a playoff game. But what hurts though is their confidence. Getting killed in every game last year will really put a damper on a teams mind set, BUT theres a glimmer of hope. They beat Yellville at Yellville the last week of regular season play. If coached correctly that's going into the offseason will a lot of hope. Being picked to not win a game and beating the years past conference champion on their senior night is huge. Look for Marshall to make some upsets.

8) Yellville Summit- Last year they were expected to compete in the conference after winning the title but completely flopped. They have hope behind their talented tailback Tristin Jones, who can run and catch, but other than that, the talents not there. Neither is this confidence. Look for them to be most teams homecoming games and finish last this year.

So Thoughts, Opinions, anything? The Moose is up for it!

We won't be as bad you think Moose. Don't get me wrong, we won't be top three by any means but don't be surprised if you see us sneak into the 5 spot or even over achieve and get the 4 spot. The juniors and seniors are small, speedy kids, while the strength and size will come from the sophomores. The Achilles's heel for us is going to be finding guys to step up and be leaders, they lost their only leaders to graduation(#7-Caleb Gilley #44 Rhett Moore).

And that's all i have...for now ;)
