About 35 years ago, when I played high school football at White Hall, players got a "Game Grade" after every game.

If you played good, you got an 80. If you were excellent, you got a 90 (or above). If you played poorly, you might get a 62! Same grading scale as the classroom.

The grades were posted for EVERYONE to see, outside the coaches office.

So, is anything like this still done?

My son's team stopped stopped giving "Game Grades" halfway through the 2014 season. He was upset, because Game Grades were the main feedback he got from the coaches on how he played (he was an offensive lineman).

White Hall was still doing it fairly recently (maybe 2-3 years ago anyway, haven't heard since).  I remember hearing some of the kids talk about it at church.

By the way, I graduated from White Hall in 1984, when Vaughn was the Offensive Coordinator. Smith was the head coach.
