Rain. Kids will learn how to play in the wet, but the chance of injuries is greater. Cool weather. Lightning might cancel outdoor practice altogether. Fields will get torn up from the get-go.

I'll never complain about rain in August, but you're right. Dardy @ Booneville Thursdays scrimmage has been moved to Russellville because the fields are so wet.

Seriously, though, a wet August tends to be an ill omen for the entire season. 2009, anyone?

We're not that wet on this side of the state, seems to get to us and just disappear.

Big E, it's felt like it's rained every day for two weeks here in Pope County, but the guys that haul in grains to the feedmill I work at say it's felt like months since it's rained around Stuttgart/DesArc/Hazen

We have gotten alot of rain here in Mississippi Co. I'm glad I have a truck lol
