Title: Can Basketball Teams Practice All Year Round?
Post by: GRN R H-2 X-Deep Over on February 27, 2019, 01:21:41 pm
I know the dead period is a point where nobody can practice, but other than that, is there any time basketball programs cannot practice? Growing up it felt like the basketball team was practicing year-round.

Dead period, and 3 consecutive days during the christmas break...those are the only days I think of that you can't practice if you wanted to.

Well, no one is enforcing these rules, so if you are in a kind of remote area of the state and no one is really paying attention you can practice all you want. It happened over Christmas 2018. Probably doesn't really make a difference in wins and losses. AAA rules are like immigration laws. They exist but aren't enforced.

So true!!! There are a lot of teams that do not observe the dead period.
