I've only seen teams from the West play so I can't really make any informed predictions.  I do think there are two or three girl's teams from the West capable of making a run, though.  Mountainburg an Bigelow are both very good teams and Danville is probably right there with them.

mr.gametime

Do anybody have dates and times for these games...I really wanna watch that strong vs claredon game..should be a good one

I don't know about Strong/Clarendon being a "good" game. I'd like to think that Strong is a much better basketball team and will pull away from the beginning.

ADG Super Six going into State and where they fall in the bracket:

CLASS 2A
1. East Poinsett County ..................26-2
2. Junction City ...............................20-6
3. Strong ........................................17-6
4. Mountain Pine ............................18-12
5. Clarendon ..................................19-5
6. Eureka Springs ..........................26-10

BOYS
1S Junction City (#2)
4E Augusta

2W County Line
3N Marked Tree

------------------------------------

1E Mountain Pine (#4)
4S Horatio

2N Rector
3W Two Rivers

1W Eureka Springs (#6)
4N Riverside

2S Strong (#3)
3E Clarendon (#5)

-----------------------------------

1N EPC (#1)
4W Danville

2E Magnet Cove
3S Parkers Chapel

Even though they were both at their place, PC took Strong to double OT during regional and got a W in the regular season.

Bottom half of the bracket looks pretty loaded. :o

A possible #2 vs. #3 match-up looming in round two if Mountainburg and Spring Hill both win in the 1st round.

Marked tree girls will give mountainburg all they want n I wouldn't call it an upset

I think at the 1A-4A level, once you get to the state tournament, there aren't many times you can call one team beating another an upset.  All 16 teams had to get through their district and regional tournaments -which is a tough task in itself- just to get to state so, most years, almost all 16 teams are capable of beating any of the other 15.

I definitely don't think Mountainburg has an easy 1st round game and I know the players and coach will not be overlooking Marked Tree.  This is basically the exact same Mountainburg team who won their first round game last year by 15-20 and gave BIC more than a scare in the 2nd round.  Of course Marked Tree may prove to be a bad and/or tough match-up for Mountainburg.  That's the key to postseason play...it's all about the match-ups.  There might be a couple of teams get beat in the 1st round who would probably beat a team or two who make it to the semi's because they match-up better with them than they did their 1st round opponent.

Very true..  If mountainburg is big n slow they'll be n trouble

Well, they probably aren't as quick and fast as Marked Tree, but Mountainburg isn't slow.  They do start three girls who are between 5'8"-5'11" but none of them can really be classified as slow.

Very tough defense. A smaller team but very capable of winning a few games in the tournament. They are very well coached.

Donnie Jamon

So epc girls will have a size advantage if they start  two 5'10 twins n a 6'0?

Donnie Jamon

poyen girls beating norphlet 46-33..  number 1 team in trouble..

not as big as some would think..  poyen beat a real good england team this year i believe..

HorseFeathers

Poyen, has a pretty strong tradition in girls basketball, so maybe it's not as suprising as some would think

Donnie Jamon

considering that norphlet has only lost 1 game this year it has to be some sort of a upset IMO..

Well true...and they are ranked #1 in the state by the Dem-Gaz...it's an upset lol...but IDk..maybe I'm the only person not suprised by seeing Poyen(reguardless of the fact I have watched very little basketballt his year), make an upset, because of their recent past as a 1A power..

Donnie Jamon

bdubyab60

Did they pull it off. I guess you wuld have to call it an upset. hasnt Norphlet beaten some pretty good teams this year.

Poyen's state championship came in 2a not 1a

keohog

This just goes to show how tuff the 5-2A Conf. was this year. Poyen was a fourth seed in the district tourney and won it and a one seed in the regional and came out of it 4th.
CONGRATS ON YOUR WIN !!!!!!!!!!!

BigLion10

Well said keo poyens win really didnt suprise me they have a really good team especially if there big girl can get going

Poyen is a very good team, and are well coached.  Poyen will be a tough matchup for anyone in the tour.  Poyen has played England four times this year, so Norphlet's pressure basketball was something they had already faced this year.

I guess Augusta never got back the players they lost earlier in the year did they?

Donnie Jamon

bdubyab60

By the looks of the score dont know if they would have helped that much but ya never know. Probably getting close to halftime now updates.

Nope.    In reality it took a remarkable run for them just to get out of districts.  They got hot at the right time, but without all those players they dont have the talent to compete with a team like Junction City.

Ill be curious to see if the players are back next year.

Agreed, the Jordan Brown kid was a one man wrecking crew in the district. Scoring over 40 in the game against Clarendon.
