Rosebud suspends 2016 football season

Due to the lack of numbers because of injuries sustained during the early part of the 2016 season, the Rose Bud High School football has been forced to cancel the remainder of its season. This decision was made by the Rose Bud School District and a formal notification was sent to the AAA office.

How many injuries did they suffer and how did they suffer them?

Any team with at least 20 players can count on losing at least 10% of their players (2 in that case) for the season with injuries in the course of a typical season.

For teams with fewer than 20 players to start with the number of injured will tend to increase by one for ever two players under 20.

For example an 18 player team can expect 3 season ending injuries. A 16 player team can expect 4 season ending injuries and so forth.

Of course you only need 11 at kickoff and even a badly injured player can stand just a few inches in bounds and step off the field as soon as the ball is kicked.

Of course you have to have 8 players to legally play offense.

Hate to hear that . they must be really low on numbers. When McCrory brought back football in 2005 we played with only 15 players the 1st 8 games . we got are butts handed to us but we played.

Hate to hear that but at least they had the courtesy to cancel the season and give the rest of the teams on their schedule a chance to find another game. Hope their numbers will be back up next year.

Hate it for Rosebud.
Maybe Rison could pick up next week's Rosebud opponent (Mayflower).
Hermitage was on Rison's schedule for next week.

ETA: Never mind, sounds like Rison has already worked up something with LR McClellan's JV on the 10th.
