It's game day and time for my prediction. While I'd like to see someone different win the state championship for a change, instead of Charleston [I know that shocks some of you 5-3A posters.], I just don't see that happening.

Prescott should have an edge on the fatigue factor, since they have fewer 2-way starters. So, if they can control the ball and pound Charleston inside, they could be stronger down the stretch. But I don't think that will happen.

I don't have a specific predication on the score. However, this game will not be a blowout like Chucktown over Glen Rose in 2013, nor will it be a seesaw battle where the last team to score wins like Harding Academy and Glen Rose in 2012. It should be more like last year's championship game where the game was close for a while, but Harding pulled away to win by two touchdowns.

Prescott may have some early success, and even might take the lead. But the Tigers will make adjustments, perhaps at halftime, and take over by the second half.

Regardless of who wins, best wishes to both teams. May they play their best without injury, and all who travel to WMS make it there and back safely.
