I would switch Alma and Hope and throw in CF up there at 5 or 6.  White Hall is out.

I believe Alma to be in the proper place. Out of the final 4, Hope was the only one not to beat any of the other teams at any point in the season.

Alma went undefeated in the same conference as the state champion and took the state runner up to a game winning field goal. Hope gave Morrilton all they wanted, but it was for not.

My top 10:

1. Morrilton
2. Batesville
3. Alma
4. Hope
5. Camden Fairview
6. Pulaski Academy
7. Wynne
8. Little Rock Mills
9. White Hall
10. Watson Chapel

I left the Co Champs out just to get a rise out of them. they're definitely a top 5 team

Apparently great minds think alike, I did mine without looking at the thread beyond the OP, but it corresponds 1:1 with Almatrackster's.

I agree on all of the above posts, but I will use HH's as a comparison for what I am about to say and this is just using the Points For, then showing the Points Against in this season..
Pulaski Academy in 12 game had 595 PF and 355 PA. (2nd round) ;)
Morrilton in 14 games had 566 PF and 309 PA.  (State Champions) 8)
Batesville in 14 games had 509 PF and 251 PA.  (State Runner-up) 8)
Camden Fairview in 12 games had 433 PF and 166 PA.  (2nd round) ;)
Shiloh Christian in 11 games had 419 PF and 340 PA. (1st round) :)
Wynne in 12 games had 401 PF and 203 PA.  (2nd round) ;)
Alma in 13 games had 399 PF and 239 PA.  (Semi-finalist) ;D
Hope in 13 games had 390 PF and 224 PA.  (Semi-finalist) ;D
Harrison in 10 games had 378 PF ;D and 384 PA. ???
Greenbrier in 11 games had 356 PF and 387 PA.  (1st round) :)
Sylvan Hills in 11 games had 344 PF and 295 PA.  (1st round) :)
White Hall in 11 games had 341 PF and 241 PA.  (1st round) :)
Forrest City in 10 games had 338 PF and 237 PA. ;D
Mills in 12 games had 332 PF and 229 PA. ;D
and I can go on and on and talk about coulda, woulda, shoulda or what if's in conference play, but it comes down to that Morrilton is the State Champs after 40 years and Batesville is the State Runner-up this year.  Two great teams.  Good Luck next year.

Look like hope had the better defense other than Wynne.

The Future

All previous polls look very legit.

1. Morrilton- lockin as champs
2. Batesville- lockin as 3peat runner ups
3. Alma- could possibly be switched with Hope. They never played so we really don't know
4. Hope- could be switched with Alma. See Above
5. Camden- losing in the second round demotes Cardinals from 3 or 4 to 5.
6. Wynne- Shocker to put Wynne above PA??
7. Pulaski Academy- 2 years in a row failing to meet preseason expectations. Are the Bruins simply not as good as they were during the 2005-2009 seasons?
8. Shiloh Christian- final 5A season wasn't too shabby
9. Mills- interchangeable with spot 10
10. Watson Chapel- interchangeable with spot 9

Teams worth mentioning for their own various reasons: White Hall, Sylvan Hills, Forrest City, Harrison

I think part of it is Pulaski Academy is not used to playing against teams that can match them or beat them on offense...that can step up on defense when needed the most...and that can prepare well for their, shall we say "shenanigans" for a full game.

I think Wynne is definitely a force moving forward, but do you think their defense is solid enough to have stopped or slowed PA down enough to beat them?  I don't see it, but I may be wrong.

There weren't many teams this year that prepared well for it either.  What team stepped up on defense against them? Yes, they lost this year, to a team that outscored them.  They didn't lose to a team that stepped up on defense and prepared well for their shenanigans.

Morrilton stepped it up on defense against them "when they needed to the most" (just like I said)...they got enough stops and also turnovers at the right times to put themselves in a winning position.  They also prepared well for their "shenanigans"...recovered all on-side kicks...made them punt a time or two.  Had it not been for that, it probably would not have been pretty.  And, they didn't turn the ball over and hurt themselves.  They did all of the things necessary to be ahead on the scoreboard at the end of the game.  Anyone that disagrees with these statements was obviously watching a different game.

MDXPHD

So they stepped it up on defense when they needed it, recovered all onside kicks, didn't turn the ball over, and made PA punt a time or two, yet they allowed 50 points.  Something isn't adding up.   I'm not arguing about who won the game, or even that Morrilton was the better team.  Obviously, they were that night.  I am saying that they simply scored more points than PA.  Their offense won that game.

I agree with that; however, their defense set them up on 2-3 series before scores (including a few turnovers). And, they made stops when PA was driving at times to create a turnover on downs or a punt to set themselves up nicely. Offense scored the points, but the defense made play when needed that definitely assisted.

Hogskin

Top ten picks are pretty acurate. I am still confused why anyone mentions Harrison. They were one of the worst teams in thier conf ,maybe top 10 worst teams in 5A. The PA situation is what it is, if a team can score with them they will have a chance to win the game do to the unorthodox style of play they claim is based off some kinda math. I know all 57 points Motown scored came after short fields due to failed onsides, turnover on downs or other shinanagines. This will happen every year to PA, egos getting in the way of sound football.

Looked over that thanks for pointing that out and honestly in my opinion hope had the #1 defense in 5A or in the top 3.
