Ok, some of you will recognize this, but some of you won't. What you will see in the next few posts will be the "performance lists" for 4A track (post 1), 3A track (post 2), 2A track (post 3), and 1A (post 4).

These lists are meant to project how well a team will do at the state meet. As the year goes on, these lists will mean more and more.

That kind of hurt - no mention of Caddo Hills in Class A? We finished second the last two years.

What do you mean? I'm only using directathletics and varvee meets. I don't think the meets I've used as projections have had Caddo Hills in them yet. I think one of the more recent ones do, though.

Caddo

In all honesty I was just making casual conversation(poking). I appreciate you compiling the list. There are a lot of good teams this year.

Wow...no Mansfield in the 3A?

Well this isn't for girls, or they would obviously be well represented, but their boys aren't very strong this year...

My predictions as of right now.
In 4a it has to be Heber Springs.

3a will be Prescotts to lose.  Paris is looking to fill the second spot.

In 2a Lafayette looks scary.  They were runner-up in 3a last year.  They will battle with Junction now in 2a.  It could come down to how serious Bearden gets in track.  If they are not serious Junction will qualify alot at their conference meet.

1a I think Trinity's dynsasty is in jeopardy.  Im still not sure who to predict here.

Sorry, I would like to, but I don't want to over promise things like I did last year. I like doing these, but they are time consuming, and going girls for each classification may wear me out on them.

It's not looking good that I'll do girls right now.

+1

Is your name after the player Thomas Hill who was a guard for I think Duke University back in the early 90's?  It seems like he was drafted by the NBA but never played?  Maybe I'm wrong.

Coach Alley

Brandon Cox may have not qualified. I believe the wind durin their heat was +2.1.

My daughter threw the shot 31'11" and won the meet at Pocahontas last week. She goes to Manila3A, I know very little about track, is that a good throw?

The automatic qualifying mark for 3A in the shot is 32'8" so she's very close.  You can find the qualifying standards on the AAA website under xc/track and field.  So to answer your question yes that's a very good throw.  The qualifying standard is kind of what everyone is shooting for at this point in the season, if they haven't hit it all ready.

Wiggins has upped the ante in 4A pole vault to 14'8", doing this at Waldron last week.

Anyone going to the Russellville meet today? We will be taking Cody (DeWitt) to run the 1600m & 3200M.

RATTLER43

Softball Dave

He PR'd in both the 1600m (4:37.76, finishing 8th) & the 3200m (10:22.93, finishing 14th). That's 7 seconds faster in the 1600m & 12 seconds faster in the 3200m that he has ever run. We were very excited with his results. Amazing what competition will do for you!

KOJACK

Johnson of Prescott went 11.01 yesterday at Nashville in the 100m. He also went 22.43 in the 200m and Stewart went 22.76 in the 200 and 11.34 in the 100m. Gulley went 52.28 in the 400. Like I said earlier...ain't nobody worried about Paris. Paris , Paris, Paris, we talkin bout Paris man Paris...not rivercrest, not rivercrest...we talkin bout paris lol

If I'm looking at this right, Prescott has qualified 10 already counting relay teams!!  This is before what they will qualify at District!!

AT, what's up with the 3200m times from the Alma meet?
Looking at the times vs. what the kids had previously run, it almost looks like they only ran 7 laps.  There times seem to be 70-90 seconds on the fast side.  Not that I have any idea just speculation on my part. If the times are correct the winning time is a new arkansas state record I believe.

Softball Dave

That's about it looks like to me as well! But still with that added to the times, that would be some good times!

Looks Good Trackster.....Thanks!
