Both Ouachita Baptist University and Harding University will be on the road for the first round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs on Saturday.

Ouachita Baptist (9-2) will play No. 4 seed Ferris State (9-1) in Big Rapids, Mich. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central. Ouachita Baptist captured the Great American Conference title and earned a No. 5 seed into the Super Region 3 bracket.

Ferris State enters the contest on a seven-game winning streak and the Bulldogs will be making their fourth consecutive regional appearance. Ferris State advanced to the national semifinals in 2016.

Harding (8-3) is a No. 7 seed after winning its eighth consecutive game on Saturday. The Bisons are matched up with unbeaten Indianapolis University (11-0). The Bisons and Greyhounds will kickoff at noon Central.

Congrats to Arkansas Tech. They earned it.  ;)

Ouachita took an early 13-0 lead, but eventually fell 24-19.  First half turnovers by Ferris kept them Tigers in the game, but once the Bulldogs got that under control, they were able to edge Ouachita late.

OBU had their share of turnovers. Hard to beat a gpod team on the road in those conditions without playing a clean game. Comgrats on a great year and a GAC title. Good lucl to Harding next week.

A really great accomplishment for the Harding coaching staff, to turn an 0-3 team into a winner.

Yes it is, and they should be proud. But the story of the year thus far is West Florida making the quarters, all playoff games on the road, in their SECOND YEAR TO PLAY FOOTBALL!

I am amazed at what Harding has accomplished.... and a little concerned for next season (SAU @ Harding in 2018).

Harding may amaze you, but keep in mind West Florida is in its second year as a program (in what's arguably on of the toughest D-II Conferences in the country).

The GSC certainly dominated one quarter of the play-off bracket!
