Men's High Jump
Erik Kynard
Kyle Landon
Bradley Adkins

Kynard is the reigning bronze medalist in this event, but it seems since London 2012 that high jumpers keep literally raising the bar while we fall behind as Americans in this event. Kynard has finished 5th and 8th at the past two championships. Not to be too much of a Debbie downer, he is still one of the best in the world. He has the 8th best jump in the world and if he's on his game, he can medal in a fickle event like high jump.

Proof how unpredictable this event is: Kyle Landon's best NCAA finish is 3rd place two years ago. He is tied for the 36th best jump right now. I don't think he will medal. He might make the final.

Adkins was the NCAA runner up behind a Canadian last year and a 6th place finisher this year. He is tied for the 79th best jump in the world. It's doubtful he will medal or make the final.

Not too bad. Swimming prelims went well and Massialas may have been the first ranked in the world but in the Olympics with all the variance in those type of events, a silver medal is great.

I think rugby did about as good as they could.

Men's volleyball and Serena and Venus disappointed in doubles but Serena had a tough turn around and Venus just isn't the same.

AT

Dana Vollmer wins the Bronze Medal in the 100m Butterfly! I think she did well considering she didn't know if she was going to do this as of a year ago.
