C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. The 7-3 Tigers will face the 7-3 Tarleton State Texans, who claimed a share of the Lone Star Conference title.

Gonna be a LOT of purple in that one.   ;)  Glad to see HSU in the playoffs and HU plus OBU going to a bowl.

It would even be cooler for A) Bennie (our pet name up here for Bentonville) to land the NCAA Division II championship game for a few years as they're a finalist to do so, and; B) one of the aforementioned three teams to make it to the DII national championship next year.  OBU will lose a lot of defensive firepower plus their main RB; HSU will lose some all-conference o-linemen, but return (if he returns) a guy who may end up being statistically the best NCAA D II QB to date; HU had until this week D II's best rushing attack.

BTW, HSU's backup QB Dallas Hardison will be no slouch...his senior year Bentonville was at one point ranked #1 in the USA Today computer poll, and went 25-1 his two years as a starter.  Had Hardison had literally just a couple more pass completions (he was almost always pulled in the second quarter because Bentonville was mercy ruling the other team) he would have ended up #2 in "season passing completion" all-time nationally behind a guy who was a pretty good athlete himself, Tim Couch.

Long way of saying, there are some fascinating things happening in Arkansas at the DII level right now that I hope can occur at DI as well (and DIII for Hendrix).

Due to inclement weather in both Texas and Arkansas the C.H.A.M.P.S bowl has been cancelled.

This game will not be rescheduled!
