Early 7A/6A standings through games of Aug. 30

Hall-Mount St. Mary game will be made up Tuesday at Hall.

Because Pine Bluff does not have a volleyball team (I can never remember them ever having one), it has caused some issues for Bryant and Siloam Springs in the 7A/6A-South.

Since Bryant is a 7A-West school for the playoffs, they play two less games in the South (12) than the West does. So the AAA designated early season games Van Buren and Conway (both 7A teams) as conference games for the 7A power ratings. The Lady Hornets beat VBHS and lost to Conway.

Also, because Siloam Springs plays in the 7A/6A-West, it plays two more games than the 6A-South schools. So the administrators in the South are working on a solution (a ballot has been sent out for a vote). It will probably a prorated point system for the other South schools. There is no provision in the AAA handbook to TAKE AWAY games from Siloam Springs.

Good luck to the teams in 7A and 6A this season. It should be an interesting year.
