The McClellan Crimson Lions are excited to announce that their home field has been renovated and is ready to host its first game; however, due to concern about potential damage to the new surface following the prediction of extensive rainfall over the next few days, the team will play this Friday night's game at Scott Field.  Scott Field is located on the campus of Forest Heights STEM Academy, 5901 Evergreen.  Kick-off for the game is 7 p.m.

"We are appreciative to the LRSD administration for its commitment to ensure that our football field is ready, and extremely pleased that we will be able to host home games," said Maurice Moody, McClellan's head football coach. "We have received overwhelming support from our school family, fans, and community and appreciate their understanding as we work together to preserve our new investment and provide a safe field to serve the needs of student athletes."

Significant rainfall associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon is expected to spread across the area late tonight and into Thursday and Friday. Heavy foot traffic, combined with those weather conditions, could impact the surface of the new field.

"We are proud of the Crimson Lions and the gracious way they have handled the challenges related to the resurfacing of their field and look forward to the opportunity for fans to cheer them on with a home-field advantage," LRSD Athletic Director John Daniels said. "Go Crimson Lions!"

McClellan earned appearances in the State Championship game twice in the last three years and fans anticipate a third run at the State title this season.
